<p>This is the complete set of experimental NIR reflectance data collected by R. Cerubini and co-authors for the article "Near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy of sublimating salty ice analogues. Implications for icy moons" published in Planetary and Space Science 211 (2022). doi: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.pss.2021.105391.</p> <p>The article itself is published in open-access and provides the methodology for the spectral aquisitions, discussion of the errors and uncertainties, analysis of the spectra and implications for the composition of Solar System surfaces.</p> <p>The data are contained in ASCII files (columns separated by comma). The first column is the wavelength (in micrometers) and the other columns contain the reflectance data (in unit of reflectance factor). The different compositions are indicated in the filenames and correspond directly to the figures in the published paper.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
Education in the Anthropocene: Assessing planetary health science standards in the US
The environmental crises defining the Anthropocene demand ubiquitous mitigation efforts, met with collective support. Yet, disengagement and disbelief surrounding planetary health threats are pervasive, especially in the United States (US). This skepticism may be influenced by inadequate education addressing the scope and urgency of the planetary health crisis. We analyzed current K-12 science standards related to planetary health throughout the US, assessing their quality and potential predictors of variation. While planetary health education varies widely across the US with respect to the presence and depth of terms, most science standards neglected to convey these concepts with a sense of urgency. Furthermore, state/territory political affiliation and primary GDP contributor were each predictive of the quality of planetary health education. We propose that a nation-wide science standard could fully address the urgency of the planetary health crisis and prevent political bias from influencing the breadth and depth of concepts covered.

<p>The dataset supports the manuscript on "Wavelength dependent Mid-infrared Optical Constants (5-25 µm) of silicate glasses: A Genetic Algorithm approach" submitted by the authors to Earth and Space Science. </p> <p>data.xlsx - contains the measured micro-FTIR spectra, the modeled reflectance spectra by the GA-LSQ approach, the residual between the measured and modeled spectra, the wavelength dependent optical constants n and k for all the glasses studied. </p> <p>This work was supported by NASA PDART grant 80NSSC21K0877 to E. C. Sklute and the RISE2 SSERVI cooperative agreement 80NSSC19M0215.</p> <p> </p>
