Dataset: Quasi-static shear-compression tests on stone masonry walls with plaster: Influence of load history and axial load ratio

This repository contains the results of six quasi-static cyclic shear-compression tests performed on single-leaf stone masonry walls made of limestone blocks and lime-based mortar joints. Of the six walls, four are tested under different axial load ratios, performing a cyclic load history with two cycles per increasing drift demand. Three are tested under the same axial load ratio but are subjected to different load histories, namely, one monotonic loading, one cyclic loading with two cycles per drift level and one cyclic loading with one hundred cycles per drift level.

Results and details of the tests are reported in:

Godio M, Vanin F, Zhang S, Beyer K (2019). “Quasi-Static Shear-Compression Tests on Stone Masonry Walls with Plaster: Influence of Load History and Axial Load Ratio.” Engineering Structures 192: 264–78. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.engstruct.2019.04.041

Plaster Head of Paavo Nurmi
This plaster head of Paavo Nurmi was made by the sculptor Wäinö Aaltonen, probably simultaneously with his famous statue of the runner (1924–25). The portrait was donated to the Sports Museum by Mauno Mäki in February 1949. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Plaster Statue of Saint Barbara
**Dimensions** Length: 13 cm Width: 10,5 cm Height: 40 cm This is the plaster statue in colour of Saint Barbara holding a mine lamp in her right hand and a tower on her left. Saint Barbara is the patron saint of miners. According to the legend, Barbara's father Dioscorus imprisoned Barbara in a tower as a punishment for her conversion to Christianity. But a lightning bolt split the walls of the tower and Barbara could escape. However, she was caught and sentenced to death. Father Dioscorus personally executed her death sentence with a sword, but he was punished immediately: he was struck by a lightning bolt and turned to ashes on the spot. Since the 17th century, Saint Barbara has been the patroness of people who have to deal with explosives. In Limburg, Saint Barbara has been worshipped since the end of First World War and her feast day is on December 4th. *3D model created by Akvile Valuntaite* Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

3D Scan from plaster work
this is from a project using EinScan Pro 2X. Was created using targets wich is why there are holes. We then fill those holes to make completely solid. Once finished we actually make a cad file from the model. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Historic Wall Plaster and Graffiti
In 2009, CAP made an incredible discovery - a chunk of wall plaster that was well-preserved and showed a partial signature. Even more incredible was the discovery of a historic photo in the MSU Archives showing the exact same piece of signed plaster within the rest of the plastered wall and with even more signatures. In May 1887, Alexander Moore and 6 of his fellow MAC students helped do repairs on College Hall. To mark the occasion, they signed their names on a wall under the words "Darn Hard Job." Over 120 years later, CAP archaeologists found this fragment of their graffiti. We never would have learned the backstory of this cool and personal artifact without finding a historical photograph of the graffiti in the Michigan State University Archives. Roman Painted Wall Plaster
Everyday life in Pontes, Roman Staines; a piece of painted wall plaster. Some people in Roman Staines did rather well out of selling provisions to passing travellers; their houses had tiled roofs, Opus Signinum (concrete) floors, hypocaust flue tiles (under floor heating), window glass and painted walls. This is one of many fragments of painted wall plaster found in Staines. If you look carefully you can see a groove on the back where the slaked lime/sand/aggregate plaster was attached to the wooden 'wattle' frame of the wall, and a thin fine smooth layer of crushed marble which is applied to the outer surface to provide a painting surface. Analysis of samples from Staines by the University of Leicester showed our painted plaster to be painted 'buon fresco', or when the plaster was still wet, meaning plastering and painting were completed in panels of one days work before the plaster dried. This fragment is ca. 2cm across and photography employed a 50mm lens at F22. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
