Monthly mean sea level data (1912-2018) relative to NAVD88 for Portland, Maine, NOAA/NOS
Monthly sea level data for NOAA/NOS station 8418150, Portland, Maine. Tidal bench marks directions from north bound Interstate 295 in Portland, take the Waterfront Exit (Alt. U.S. 1) to Commercial Street, then continue NE along Commercial Street for 2.4 km (1.5 mi) to the Maine State Pier, the last pier- warehouse along the waterfront. The bench marks are located within 1.6 km (1 mi) radius of tide station. The tide gage is located in the south corner on the off shore end of the Maine State Pier. Dissolved organic matter characterization for seasonal synoptic sampling of 100 urban streams in Portland, Oregon (USA) from 2023-2024
This dataset contains dissolved organic matter characteristics from surface water samples collected at 100 urban stream locations in the greater Portland, Oregon metropolitan area. Samples were collected four times (July 2023, October 2023, January 2024, and May 2024) to capture spatial and seasonal variation in DOC concentrations. Fluorescent optical properties were measured on filtered water samples to understand the chemical composition of dissolved organic matter. Excitation-Emission Matrices (EEMs) were measured using a Horiba Aqualog spectrometer. DOM characteristics were quantified using both standard fluorescence and absorbance metrics as well as through parallel factor (PARAFAC) analysis. These data were collected as part of the Carbon in Urban Rivers Biogeochemistry (CURB) Project. Detailed field data and site data are published separately and can be linked using the “curbid” and “synoptic_event” columns in each dataset.

Field data for seasonal synoptic sampling of 100 urban streams in Portland, Oregon (USA), 2023-2024
This dataset contains field measurements taken during water sampling from 100 urban stream locations in the greater Portland, Oregon (USA) metropolitan area. Field collection took place during four synoptic sampling events (July 2023, October 2023, January/February 2024, and May 2024) to capture spatial and seasonal variation in stream conditions (specific conductivity, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, ORP). Filtered stream samples were analyzed for dissolved organic carbon concentration and characteristics, available in a separate dataset. These data were collected as part of the Carbon in Urban Rivers Biogeochemistry (CURB) Project. Detailed field data and site data are published separately and can be linked using the “curbid” and “synoptic_event” columns in each dataset.

Rietveld Quantitative Phase Analyses of SRM 2686a: a Standard Portland Clinker. doi: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cemconres.2018.09.011
<p>SRM 2686a is a NIST reference Portland clinker with a reported mineralogical analysis from powder diffraction and electron microscopy. This sample is used in ASTM C1365 test method for Rietveld quantitative phase analysis validation procedure. Here, we have analysed SRM 2686a by using three state-of-the-art powder diffraction configurations: i) strictly monochromatic CuKα1 radiation in flat reflection geometry; ii) strictly monochromatic MoKα1 radiation in flat transmission geometry; and iii) synchrotron radiation in rotating capillary transmission geometry. The silicate and aluminate enriched residues have also been studied by CuKα1 powder diffraction. All the powder patterns were analysed by Rietveld method with the best available protocols. The results indicate that belite in SRM 2686a is composed of three polymorphs (b-, α’H- and g-) that must be included in the analyses. The use of a unique phase for describing belite (b-polymorph) could explain the problems found for implementing ASTM C1365 in some cement manufacturing plants. Furthermore, all the patterns are deposited as open data access at Zenodo, so interested laboratories can analyse these data to verify their protocols.</p>

Dataset for "Influence of curing temperature on belite cement hydration: a comparative study with Portland cement" paper
<p>Dataset for paper (doi: <a title="Persistent link using digital object identifier" href="https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cemconres.2021.106499" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><span>https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cemconres.2021.106499</span></a>) with the abstract "Belite cements (BCs) could be a more sustainable binder than Portland cements (PCs) but adequate knowledge of the hydration features has still to be built. In particular, the mild curing hydration temperature effects have been extensively studied for PCs but not for BCs. This research was triggered by a previous work reporting improved mechanical strengths of BCs at higher curing temperatures. Here, we report the hydration characteristics of a BC at 20, 40 and 60ºC and compared to those of a typical PC. We have corroborated previous findings and used a multi-technique approach including Rietveld phase analysis, thermal analysis, calorimetry, silicon MAS-NMR, mercury intrusion porosimetry and chiefly synchrotron X-ray microtomography, to thoroughly understand the different behavior. In a nutshell, the improved mechanical performances at mild curing temperatures for BCs are due to a much larger belite degree of reaction without a significant porosity coarsening."</p>
