Sanitation Poverty: a multidimensional measure

<p>This file provides the primary data (database file, in *csv) and achieved results (results file, in *csv) published in the paper &quot;Monitoring and&nbsp;Targeting the Sanitation Poor: A Multidimensional Approach&quot;, Natural Resources Forum, 2018 (under review).</p> <p>The paper discusses the adequacy and applicability of one approach that is increasingly adopted for multidimensional poverty measurement at the&nbsp;household level, the Alkire-Foster methodology. Drawing on this method, we identify and combine a set of direct household-related water and&nbsp;sanitation deprivations that a person experiences at the same time. This new multidimensional measure is useful for gaining a better understanding&nbsp;of the context in which WaSH services are delivered. It captures both the incidence and intensity of WaSH poverty, and provides a new tool to support&nbsp;monitoring and reporting, as well as targeting and planning. For illustrative purposes, one small town in Mozambique is selected as the initial case&nbsp;study.<br> &nbsp;</p>

Lithuanian Household Energy Expenditure and Energy Poverty Data, 2019

<p>This dataset provides data about household energy expenditure and energy poverty in Lithuania. The dataset contains detailed data about 5031 households and is based on the Lithuanian Survey on Income and Living Conditions (2019) micro dataset provided by Statistics Lithuania. It includes additional data derived from original survey data and energy poverty calculation results at household level.</p> <p>Duomenų rinkinyje pateikiami duomenys apie namų ūkių energijos i&scaron;laidas ir energijos nepriteklių Lietuvoje 2019 metais. Duomenų rinkinys apima 5131 namų ūkį. Rinkinio pagrindas - Pajamų ir gyvenimo sąlygų statistinio tyrimo duomenys, skelbiami Lietuvos Statistikos departamento. Association between family income to poverty ratio and nocturia

<p>Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) in 2005-2010, including 6,662 adults aged 20 or older, were utilized for this cross-sectional study. The baseline data was used to display the distribution of each characteristic visually. Multiple linear regression and smooth curve fitting were used to study the linear and non-linear correlations between PIR and nocturia. Subgroup analysis and interaction tests were conducted to examine the stability of intergroup relationships.</p>

Poverty Point Mound B

Mound B is located north and west of the six concentric ridges and 2050 ft (625 m) north of Mound A. The mound is roughly conical in form and is approximately 21 ft (6.5 m) in height with a 180 ft (55 m) basal diameter. Dating to sometime after 1700 BC, Mound B was the first earthwork built at Poverty Point. Built in several stages, charcoal, fire pits, and possible postmolds were found at various levels within the mound. The impressions of woven baskets were preserved in the fill of an upper level of the mound construction. Extreme Poverty Headcount Change

<p>We classify countries into 5 categories based on the change of the extreme poverty headcount between 1990 and 2015. A country is defined as poor if more than 10% of its population is living in extreme poverty.</p> <p>The categories are:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Rich Countries (R)</strong>: Countries that have a value of extreme poverty headcount below 10% in 1990 and in 2015</li> </ul> <ul> <li><strong>Emerging Countries 1 (E_R1)</strong>: Countries that have a value of extreme poverty headcount above 10% in 1990 and below 10% in 2015 with a decrease in this value of 50% or more (head count in 2015 is half or less than half of what it was in 1990)</li> </ul> <ul> <li><strong>Emerging Countries 2 (E_R2)</strong>: Countries that have a value of extreme poverty headcount above 10% in 1990 and still above 10% in 2015 with a decrease in this value of more than 50% (head count is lower in 2015 but still above 10%)</li> </ul> <ul> <li><strong>Non-emerging countries (NE)</strong>: Countries where the head count in 1990 was more than 10% and still more than 10% in 2015 with a reduction of less than 50%</li> </ul> <ul> <li><strong>Countries going into extreme poverty (B)</strong>: Countries with less than 10% head count in 1990 and more than 10% in 2015</li> </ul>

Poverty Point Mound A

Poverty Point State Historic Site/Poverty Point National Monumentis a prehistoric earthwork constructed by the Poverty Point culture. The Poverty Point site is located in present-day northeastern Louisiana though evidence of the Poverty Point culture extends throughout much of the Southeastern Woodlands. The culture extended 100 miles (160 km) across the Mississippi Delta and south to the Gulf Coast. Located in the Southern United States, the site is 15.5 miles (24.9 km) from the current flow of the Mississippi River,[3] and is situated on the edge of Macon Ridge, near the village of Epps in West Carroll Parish, Louisiana. The Poverty Point site contains earthen ridges and mounds, built by indigenous people between 1700 and 1100 BC during the Late Archaic period in North America.[4] Archaeologists have proposed a variety of possible functions for the site including as a settlement, a trading center, and/or a ceremonial religious complex.
