Based in our first hypothesis of extand-species distribution of this group the ancestral was widespread through all Guyana Shield rivers and Amazon Brazilian Shield rivers, the species Pseudancistrus zawadzkii and Pseudancistrus sp. L17 are in the limited distribution of this group in Tapajós and Xingu rivers, drainages of Brazilian Shield into Amazon.
