Requirements Quality Factor Ontology

<p>We investigated a previously published set of research articles concerned with requirements quality, extracted quality factors and other relevant elements from eligible publications, and iteratively constructed an ontology of quality factors for natural language requirements. The documentation of the process, the resulting data set, and a web application to visualize the results are contained in this artifact bundle.</p>

Recovery of unavailable Requirements Quality Artifacts

<p>We extracted a <a href="http://www.reqfactoront.com/">requirements quality factors ontology</a> from existing requirements quality literature in previous research. This ontology revealed that several artifacts (data sets and tools/implementations) are unavailable, hindering progress in the research domain. In the project based on this replication package, we attempted to recover lost artifacts by requesting authors to disclose their artifacts according to open science principles. This repository contains both the process description, tools for conduction of the recovery, the results, and the evaluation thereof.</p>

Empirical Research on Requirements Quality: A Systematic Mapping Study - Dataset

<p>We conducted a systematic mapping study on the empirical research into the quality of requirements titled &quot;Empirical Research on Requirements Quality: A SystematicMapping Study&quot; in the Requirements Engineering Journal. This is our replication package.</p> <p>Full Abstract:</p> <p>Research has repeatedly shown that high quality requirements are essential for the&nbsp;success&nbsp;of development projects. While the term &ldquo;quality&rdquo; is pervasive in the field of requirements engineering and while the body of research on requirements quality is large, there is&nbsp;no&nbsp;meta study of the field that overviews and compares the concrete quality attributes addressed by the community. To fill this knowledge gap, we conducted a systematic mapping study of the scientific literature. We retrieved 6,905 articles from six academic databases, which we filtered down to our 105 relevant primary studies: explicitly defining,&nbsp;improving, or evaluating quality attributes while including an empirical research component. We found that research on requirements quality focuses on&nbsp;improvement&nbsp;techniques, with very few primary studies addressing evidence-based definitions and evaluations of quality attributes. Among the 12 quality attributes identified, the most&nbsp;prominent&nbsp;in the field are ambiguity, completeness, consistency, and correctness. We identified 111 sub-types of quality attributes such as &ldquo;template conformance&rdquo; for consistency or &ldquo;passive&nbsp;voice&rdquo; for ambiguity. Ambiguity has the largest&nbsp;share&nbsp;of these sub-types. The artefacts being studied are mostly referred to in the broadest sense as &ldquo;requirements,&rdquo; while little research targets quality attributes in specific types of requirements such as use cases or user stories. We present and discuss our detailed analysis along the various quality attributes. Our findings&nbsp;highlightthe need to conduct more grounded research aimed at &ldquo;definitions,&rdquo; to use more diverse research methods, and to address a more diverse set of requirements types.</p>

Data from: Flightin maintains myofilament lattice organization required for optimal flight power and courtship song quality in Drosophila

The indirect flight muscles (IFMs) of Drosophila and other insects with asynchronous flight muscles are characterized by a crystalline myofilament lattice structure. The high-order lattice regularity is considered an adaptation for enhanced power output, but supporting evidence for this claim is lacking. We show that IFMs from transgenic flies expressing flightin with a deletion of its poorly conserved N-terminal domain (flnΔN62) have reduced inter-thick filament spacing and a less regular lattice. This resulted in a decrease in flight ability by 33% and in skinned fibre oscillatory power output by 57%, but had no effect on wingbeat frequency or frequency of maximum power output, suggesting that the underlying actomyosin kinetics is not affected and that the flight impairment arises from deficits in force transmission. Moreover, we show that flnΔN62 males produced an abnormal courtship song characterized by a higher sine song frequency and a pulse song with longer pulses and longer inter-pulse intervals (IPIs), the latter implicated in male reproductive success. When presented with a choice, wild-type females chose control males over mutant males in 92% of the competition events. These results demonstrate that flightin N-terminal domain is required for optimal myofilament lattice regularity and IFM activity, enabling powered flight and courtship song production. As the courtship song is subject to female choice, we propose that the low amino acid sequence conservation of the N-terminal domain reflects its role in fine-tuning species-specific courtship songs.

Toward a Metamodel Quality Evaluation Framework: Requirements, Model, Measures, and Process

<p>The quality of metamodel considerably affects the models and transformations&nbsp;that conform to it. Despite that, there is still little discussion&nbsp;about a comprehensive form to evaluate the quality of&nbsp;metamodels and its consequences in model-driven development&nbsp;processes. This paper proposes a metamodel quality evaluation framework called MQuaRE (Metamodel Quality Requirements and&nbsp;Evaluation). MQuaRE comprises metamodel quality requirements&nbsp;and measures, a quality model, and an evaluation process, with&nbsp;the evident influence of international standards for software product&nbsp;quality, such as ISO/IEC 25000 series. We present a simple use&nbsp;case of MQuaRE describing how requirements, measures, and the&nbsp;quality model should be used during the evaluation process of a&nbsp;metamodel for software patterns. Among other benefits, MQuaRE&nbsp;can help determine final metamodel quality, decide on the acceptance&nbsp;of a metamodel, and also assess the positive and negative&nbsp;aspects of a metamodel, contributing to its quality evolution.</p>
