Raw data acquired necessary to produce the plots introduced in the scientific paper: "Upper-limb kinematic reconstruction during stroke robot-aided therapy" (Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing)

These files contain the raw data acquired necessary to produce the plots introduced the Figure 6 of the scientific paper: “Upper-limb kinematic reconstruction during stroke robot-aided therapy” (Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing).

Fig. 6 shows the data recorded from two patients performing five forward/backward movements at InMotion2 robot before and after rehabilitation treatment. Mean values of the five execution have been reported in Fig. 6.

BRAIN Journal-Man versus Computer: Difference of the Essences. The Problem of the Scientific Creation-Figure 1. Geometrical figure "right triangle" as a material system. Points are universal joints.

However, the result of the creative activity can be easily tested (verified) by scientists. Example of the creative solution of the Euclid's V-th postulate is as follows (T.Z. Kalanov, 2011a). As is well known, the triangle is one of the most important figures in geometry and trigonometry. This figure as a material system can be constructed and studied as follows. 1. The triangle is constructed as is follows. If the sides of the angle are bound up with the rectilinear segment, then the synthesized system (the constructed geometrical figure) AOB is called triangle (Figure 1).

Demonstration of Portable Performance of Scientific Machine Learning on High Performance Computing Systems

With the largest datasets to date and a diverse set of discoveries to be made, the current generation of scientific analyses are well poised to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) on high performance computing (HPC) resources. Like never before, these workflows can be written in one portable language, python, which thanks to highly-optimized ML libraries achieves excellent cross-platform performance with little to no intervention by the user. In this demonstration, we explore the performance of several scientific AI/ML applications across leading HPC resources and highlight best practices for portable performance.

Diversity of Expertise is Key to Scientific Impact: a Large Scale Analysis in the Field of Computer Science

This repository is companion to a research paper with the following abstract:

Understanding the relationship between the composition of a research team and the potential impact of their research papers is crucial as it can steer the development of new science policies for improving the research enterprise. Numerous studies assess how the characteristics and diversity of research teams can influence their performance across several dimensions: ethnicity, internationality, size, and others. In this paper, we explore the impact of diversity in terms of the authors’ expertise and skills. To this purpose, we retrieved 114K papers in the field of Computer Science and analysed how the diversity of research fields within a research team relates to the number of citations their papers received in the upcoming 5 years. The results show that two different metrics reflecting the diversity of expertise are directly associated with the number of citations. This suggests that, at least in Computer Science, diversity of expertise is key to scientific impact.
