SLOCLIM: A high-resolution daily gridded precipitation and temperature dataset for Slovenia

SLOCLIM is a new high-resolution daily gridded precipitation and temperature dataset for Slovenia, covering the whole territory of Slovenia from 1950 to 2018. A grid of 1x1 km spatial resolution consists of 20,998 points for which daily maximum and minimum temperature and precipitation was calculated. The observed climatic information was provided by Slovenian Environment Agency (ARSO).

Perception and evaluation of (modified) wood by older adults from Slovenia and Norway (Datasets, R analysis code, and supplementary tables)

This entry contains datasets, R analysis code, and supplementary tables for the article Perception and evaluation of (modified) wood by older adults from Slovenia and Norway.

The article investigates human perception and evaluation of handrails made of different materials. Our goal was to identify how older adults perceive handrails made of unmodified wood, modified wood, and steel. We examined if certain materials are more preferred than others, which material properties might be associated with differences in human preference, and what are the roles of tactile and tactile-visual domains in material perception. Our analysis is based on the results from an 11-item rating scale and a ranking task.

Forced Continuance Intention Model of Distance Online Teaching during CoVID-19 outbreak at University of Maribor, Slovenia [Project documentation]

The outbreak of COVID -19 forced most universities into distance education. Three didacticians and researchers from the University of Maribor, Slovenia: Kosta Dolenc, Mateja Ploj Virtič and Andrej Šorgo formed a self-initiated initiative project group during the COVID -19 epidemic and started the project with the working title: The Side Effects of Forced Online Distance Education (FODE).

The aim of the first study, conducted during the first wave of the epidemic in March 2020, was to investigate the response of university teachers to the new situation. The project documentation provided for the Forced Online Distance Teaching (FODT) consist of:

abstract,

instrument,

copy of the descriptive statistics, and

SPSS dataset.

AI results complementing the 2021 Annual Report on surveillance for Avian Influenza in poultry and wild birds in Member States of the European Union - Slovenia

This dataset contains the results of the EU co-funded surveillance activities conducted in 2021, which consisted of:

Serological surveys to monitor the circulation of AIV subtypes H5 and H7 in poultry (active surveillance). These surveys should preferentially target poultry species or production systems with increased risk for introduction of avian influenza (AI).

Passive surveillance aiming at the virological detection of AI in wild birds found dead or moribund.

A new Geo-Lithological Map (Geo-LiM) for Central Europe (Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, and Northern Italy)

We introduce a new geo-lithological map of Central Europe (Geo-LiM) elaborated adopting a lithological classification compliant to the methods more used in the litterature for estimating the consumption of atmospheric CO2 due by chemical weathering.
Geo-LiM represents a novelty if compared with published global geo-lithological maps. The first novelty is due by the attention paid in discriminating metamorphic rocks that were classified according to the chemistry of protoliths. The second novelty is that the procedure used for the definition of the map is made available on the web to allow the replicability and reproducibility of the product.
