Supporting information for v2 of ``A Transparent Window into Early-Type Stellar Variability''

These folders contain grids of main-sequence stellar models computed four different metallicities and masses varying from 0.1-60 MSun. Models were computed using MESA r15140 following commit `964e07d` in this GitHub repo: https://github.com/adamjermyn/conv_trends.

Changes from the previous version include:

- Fixed a bug in calculating certain averages over the convection zone.

- Incorporated the effects of radiation pressure on the Rayleigh number.

- Increased time resolution of models.

The metallicities are as follows:

main_Z_time_2022_01_18_13_56_00_sha_ef8c - Z = 0.002 (SMC)

main_Z_time_2022_01_18_13_56_06_sha_adbd - Z = 0.006 (LMC)

main_Z_time_2022_01_18_13_56_13_sha_e814 - Z = 0.01
main_Z_time_2022_01_18_13_56_19_sha_f7ec - Z = 0.014 (MW)

Variable stellar outflows as a probe to magnetic fields and other physical characteristics of hot, massive stars

It is now clear that the radiatively driven outflows from hot, massive stars are far more complex than the simple homogeneous and spherically symmetric flows originally envisioned. With the advent of high resolution, high cadence observations of various types in the past decades, a myriad of phenomena have been uncovered that can help us reach a better understanding of the parameters and characteristics of the stars from which these winds originate. This in turn has important ramifications on the various phases of evolution of the star and on the way it will ultimately end its life. In this talk, I will review the many observational signatures of variable stellar outflows of massive stars and describe how they relate to physical characteristics of the underlying star, with a particular emphasis on magnetic fields.

Data for Exploration of Stellar Variability in 20-second Cadence TESS Data

This repository contains code, data, and plots related to "Exploration of Stellar Variability in 20-second Cadence TESS Data" by DeVane-Purgh et al. 2024, associated with the RNAAS manuscript number AAS5813.

This repository contains the light curves created in this process, the code necessary to create them, the code used for analysis, and the plotting script used in the paper (Final Corrections and Plots_JT.ipynb) . It also includes some of the validation plots and so forth used to examine the lightcurves, and scripts to download the data directly from MAST. README.md explains the purpose of each file.

For ease of use, it is possible to download either individual files, or the entire (zipped) archive tess_zenodo.zip
