PsPM-RRM1-2: SCR, ECG, respiration and eye tracker measurements in response to electric stimulation or visual targets

This dataset includes skin conductance response (SCR), electrocardiogram (ECG), respiration and eye tracker (including pupillometry) measurements for each of 29 healthy unmedicated participants (7 males and 22 females aged 23.5 +/- 3.6 years) in response to 10 discomforting electric stimulations to the forearm (RRM1) or 10 visual targets in a visual detection task (RRM2). The sample partly overlaps with data set PsPM-FR. Some participants did not take part in RRM1 or RRM2 such that there are 25 recordings for RRM1 and 26 recordings for RRM2. Electric shock stimuli are 0.2 ms wide square current pulse repeated at 500 Hz for 500 ms and individually adjusted amplitude just below the pain threshold. Visual stimuli are red crosses (+) embedded in a white digit stream; each stimulus is presented during 200 ms and separated by a 800 ms blank interval. ITI is selected randomly on each trial from 40 s, 45 s or 50 s. A baseline period with distractors but no targets concludes experiment RRM2. (This is in contrast to the methods description in Bach et al. (2016), according to which the baseline period was randomly either in the beginning or at the end of the experiment. This discrepancy was caused by an error in the code that controlled the experiment presentation.)

Occipital Nerve Stimulation Selectively Modulates Top-down Inhibitory Control

Objective: Here we investigate the effect of occipital nerve stimulation using low-gamma range alternating current on goal-directed and stimulus-driven attention and inhibitory training and performance. We sought to determine if stimulation modulated performance over a two-day period. Methods: We studied this effect in 47 participants recruited in one of two experiments. The goal-directed task used the stop-signal reaction time task (SSRT) during stimulation and stop-change reaction time (SCRT) in a 24-hour follow-up. Stop-signal reaction time (SSRT) and Stop-change reaction time (SCRT) were recorded in seconds, calculated using a non-integration method. SSRT/SCRT and accuracy were used as outcome measures. The stimulus-driven task used a sustained-attention reaction time task (SART), and reaction time and inhibition (NoGo) accuracy were used as outcome measures. Results: Compared to the control group, the stimulation group had improved SCRT 24 hours after combined stimulation and training. No difference in accuracy on either day were present. No difference between groups arose in the SART during training or testing.

PsPM-FSS7B: Inhibiting human aversive memory by transcranial theta-burst stimulation to primary sensory cortex

This dataset includes skin conductance response (SCR), electromygoram (EMG), and pupil size response (PSR) measurements. Also included are CS and US information, keypress responses, keypress response times and key correctness. The dataset contains data from 68 healthy unmedicated participants (34 females) participating in a classical (Pavlovian) discriminant delay fear conditioning task. Simple and complex CS are deliverd to the intermediate phalanges of the index and middle fingers of the nondominant hand. Simple stimulis are stimulations to either index or middle finger, complex stimulis are stimulations of different temporal structure to both index and middle fingers. CS intensity is set to a perceivable but not unpleasant level. US is a train of electric square pulses delivered with a constant current stimulator (Digitimer DS7A, Digitimer, Welwyn Garden City, UK) on participants' dominant forearm through a pin-cathode/ring-anode configuration. SOA betwen the CS and US is 3.5 s. The ITI is randomly determined on each trial to be 7, 9, or 11 s. The study included fear acquisition (day 1), recall and retest sessions (day 2). Participants are divided into experimental and control groups, where experimental group received continuous theta-burst stimulation on primary somatosensory cortex contralateral to the CS hand immediately prior to fear acquisition, and control group received the same stimulation to the primary somatosensory cortex ipsilateral to the CS hand. For SCR data from the acquisition session, there are 62 datasets (28 experimental, 34 control), and for PSR, 37 datasets (20 experimental, 17 control). For EMG data from the recall session, there are 52 datasets (25 experimental, 27 control). For SCR data from the retest session, there are 56 datasets (27 experimental, 39 control), and for PSR, 42 datasets (22 experimental, 20 control).
