Daily phenocam image data and derived timeseries for global change experiments at the Jornada Basin LTER site, 2014-2020
This dataset contains daily data extracted from phenocams installed at a global exchange experiment involving Chihuahuan desert plant communities at the Jornada Basin LTER site in southern New Mexico, U.S.A. Cycles of plant growth, termed phenology, are tightly linked to environmental controls, and our overarching objective in this study is to determine if temperature or precipitation are relatively more important for determining shrub and grass greenup date (start of season) and senescence date (end of season). At these camera locations, we experimentally manipulated incoming precipitation at the Jornada Basin LTER for over a decade and recorded plant leaf phenology at the daily scale for seven years using phenocams. The data included here comes from phenocams installed in two ongoing studies at the Jornada Basin LTER site, one studying ecosystem responses to long term changes in water and nitrogen availability, and one studying plant productivity and partitioning responses to water availability and herbivory (studies 349 and 456, respectively). Phenocams at the sites have collected images since 2014, and this dataset includes color values extracted from shrub and grass regions in these images. Further analyses, including daily values of calculated greenness (green chromatic coordinate), precipitation, and temperature, for all the plots included in the study are in EDI dataset knb-lter-jrn.210574002. This study is ongoing.
Derived daily timeseries of weather, soil moisture and temperature, flow and nitrogen species (nitrate and nitrite, ammonium) concentrations data for the North Wyke Farm Platform National Biosciences Research Infrastructure, England
<p>For a selection of catchments from the North Wyke Farm Platform in southwest England, where land use conversions have been introduced, daily time series data covering weather conditions (minimum temperature, maximum temperature, total rainfall, wind speed and solar radiation), near-surface soil status (moisture content and temperature), flow and concentrations of key nitrogen species (nitrate and nitrite, ammonium) have been filtered based on attached data quality tags . The datasets run between 2013 and March 2024. For the main climate variables, data gaps were infilled with preceding- and following-on daily data, observations from a nearby weather station or existing national datasets to generate a continuous data series for modelling. For the other data series, annual and seasonal summary statistics on data coverage are provided. Information on significant field events, such as ploughing, drilling and harvest, fertiliser applications and manure spreading were also tabulated.</p>
InTheMED WP6 Data Archive – Tympaki, Greece: Inflow Timeseries and Pumping Rates
<p>This data archive includes the files “InTheMED_WP6_DS_InflowTimeSeriesGreece<strong>.</strong>mat” and “InTheMED_WP6_DS_PumpingRatesGreece.mat” which contain the datasets that were used as inputs for the simulation runs of the Tympaki numerical groundwater model.</p>
Kristineberg Seagrass CH4 & CO2 Timeseries Data
<p>This dataset comprises raw data obtained from measurements conducted within a seagrass meadow located at Kristineberg, Sweden. The dataset originates from continuous timeseries observations across four seasons: late summer, autumn, spring, and early summer. It includes measurements of methane concentration and carbon dioxide partial pressure within the water column. Additional parameters are depth, temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, wind speed, and radon decay. The timestamps correspond to the Central European Time zone (CET). This dataset was used to resolve diel and seasonal dynamics of methane and carbon dioxide water-air fluxes over a cold-temperate seagrass meadow. </p> <p>Dataset is found in "Timeseries" sheet. </p> <p>Units, parameter and instrument description are found in "Metadata" sheet. </p>
ACCESS-ESM-1.5 net-zero emissions 1000-year long simulations: Seasonal temperature and precipitation gridded data with area-average timeseries of temperature, precipitation and sea ice data
<p>NetCDF files used in analysis shown in King et al. (2024) https://egusphere.copernicus.org/preprints/2024/egusphere-2023-2961/.</p> <p>Seasonal-average mapped 1.5 metre air temperature temperature data are in NetCDFs with "fld_s03i236" in their name. These files are for boreal summer "JJA" or boreal winter "DJF". The "B20__" represents the start year of the net-zero emissions simulation from which these data are drawn. These files each have 1000 time-steps and the data are in native resolution of ACCESS-ESM-1.5: 1.875 degrees longitude by 1.25 degrees latitude.</p> <p>Seasonally-averaged precipitation rate (kg/m2/s) data are in NetCDFs with "fld_s05i216" in their name. Seasons and simulation information follow the same format as the temperature files.</p> <p>The file "ts_gwl.nc" includes several timeseries used in the paper including global-average SST ("TEMP_SURFACE"), global mean ocean temperature ("TEMP_GLOBAL"), and March/September Arctic ("ICEN") and Antarctic ("ICES") sea ice extent.</p> <p>The scripts used to make the Figures are included and run using IDL version 9.0. </p> <p>For any advice on using these files please feel free to contact me: andrew.king@unimelb.edu.au.</p>
Project BioDyn: compilation of long-term (>20yrs) community timeseries data from terrestrial and freshwater realms
<p>The given dataset was compiled for n=2668 communities (242 study IDs in total, see the metadata file) across terrestrial and freshwater realms (terrestrial birds: n=1259, invertebrates: n=124, plants: n=435, and mammals: n=136, freshwater fish: n=587, invertebrates: n=112, and phytoplankton: n=15). Community timeseries include species-level abundance (or biomass in 15% of cases) and a minimum of 20 years sampled. We have compiled this data and used it for the first time to analyze how community stability and its drivers (species richness, overall synchrony, and tail-dependent synchrony) would differ across realms.</p>

<p>Geographic scope: Delmarva Peninsula, New Jersey Shore, Long Island (ocean side)</p> <p>Temporal range: 1984-2022 (variable timespacing)</p> <p>Satellites: L5, L7, L8, S2</p> <p>The shorelines and timeseries data were extracted with code and models available at <a href="https://github.com/mlundine/Shoreline_Extraction_GAN">https://github.com/mlundine/Shoreline_Extraction_GAN</a>.</p> <p>Each region's folder contains the extracted shorelines, the transects (200 m longshore spacing), the transects scaled to the linear trends, the reference shoreline, the csvs for each transect's cross-shore position timeseries (Region_#.csv) and the linear fit (Site_#_linear_trend.csv). The cross-shore positions here have not been corrected to tides or wave data. Feel free to experiment with corrections and/or timeseries analysis tools.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
