<p>This dataset contains the data to replicate the findings in the publication "Too Simple? Notions of Task Complexity used in Maintenance-based Studies of Programming Tools". The dataset includes the bibliographies and intermediate analysis tables for the analyzed literature. MastaBase: a research tool for the study of 'daily life' scenes in Old Kingdom elite tombs
<p><em>Mastabase: a research tool for the study of the secular or 'daily life' scenes and their accompanying texts in the elite tombs of the Memphite area in the Old Kingdom</em></p> <p>The Leiden Mastaba Project was initiated in 1998 to develop a coherent database of iconographic programmes in Old Kingdom elite tombs from the Memphite area (c. 2600-2150 BCE). It was published as a CD-ROM in 2008 by Peeters Publishers in Leuven.</p> <p>The project was directed by dr. René van Walsem at Leiden University, and partly funded by NWO and LUF/Gratama. Hans van den Berg and drs. Marije Vugts played a vital role in its development.</p> <p>The ISO was uploaded by Nicky van de Beek.</p> <p>Project page: https://digitalegyptology.org/mastabase/</p> <p>---</p> <p>The Leiden Mastaba Project (LMP) concerns an integral and analytic study of the secular or 'daily life' scenes and their accompanying texts in the elite tombs of the Memphite area in the Old Kingdom (c. 2600-2150 B.C.). The project has the aim to get insight in the developments of number, size, internal organization and shape of the various (sub)themes, their location in the tomb, their wall position (upper/middle/lower level), and their orientation (north/east/south/west) on the walls. This reflects the dynamics of Old Kingdom funerary culture in general aspects (collective) and in specific cases (individual). Simultaneously it reveals possible local variations, mainly among the large necropoleis of Saqqara and Giza.</p> <p>The data are digitized in a database called MastaBase, published on this cd-rom. Thanks to the standardisation of the material offered in the MastaBase, with this cd-rom it is now possible to gain quick oversights into various different aspects of these tombs and their decoration via extensive selection procedures.</p>

Fighting COVID-19 with computational tools: an AI guided review of 17,000 studies - The CSCoV database.
<p>CSCoV (Computational Studies about COVID-19) is a dataset containing COVID-19 related studies extracted from PubMed, bioRxiv, medRxiv, and arXiv, together with article and author related metrics obtained from Semantic Scholar (plus page views from bioRxiv and medRxiv). Using machine learning, the articles are categorized in six topics (Pharmacology, Genomics, Epidemiology, Healthcare, Clinical Medicine, Clinical Imaging) and prioritized. Volatile organic compound analysis, a new tool in the quest for preterm birth prediction – an observational cohort study
<p>Vaginal swabs were taken in pregnancy in high risk asymptomatic women attending a preterm prevention clinic. Women in the study attended the clinical due to a history of preterm birth or midtrimester pregnancy loss, or due to a history of cervical surgery. Individualised management plans were made depending upon individual patient risk factors. During their attendance to the clinic vaginal swabs were taken for VOC analysis. Swabs were taken between 15 and 28 weeks gestation. Women consented to vaginal swabs at each of their visits to the clinic. The dataset contains GC-IMS VOC data from a G.A.S. GC-IMS and includes a Spreadsheet of demographics.</p>

GIS as a heuristic tool to interpret ancient historiography: A case study to reconstruct what could plausibly have happened according to the accounts in New Testament texts
<p>This presentation summarizes the research findings of the TiG article (doi 10.1111/tgis.12762) which examines how GIS can be used as a heuristic tool to reconstruct spatial–temporal events from narratives in order to examine whether a scenario is conceivable within the narrative world. The narrative about Paul's escape from Berea (Acts 17:14–15) is used as a case study. Several interpretive issues related to spatial and temporal questions surround these texts. In the case study, three methods are applied: (a) least-cost path analysis on elevation data to construct journeys and travel times for Roman roads; (b) network analysis to find seafaring routes valid for ancient times; and (c) the integration of spatial and temporal data in a space-time cube. Our main finding is that the method yields insights into the spatial–temporal dynamics of the narrative. This helps a modern reader to better understand the narrative conceivability of a story in the mind of a first-century reader.</p>
