BRAIN Journal-Participative Teaching with Mobile Devices and Social Networks for K-12 Children-Figure 4. Augmented Reality with video movie and social media (a vertical loom in front of two reconstructed kilns and a wall of a Roman villa rustica)

The third stage was represented by the 3D virtual reconstruction process of the historical contexts, in our case a prehistoric village and a complete Roman villa rustica, with the help of students from the Design Department, NUA, coordinated by Professor Arch. Andreea Hasnaş. The AR application was created and tested on two commercial AR platforms, Layar and Junaio, and recently moved on the Aurasma platform (https://www.aurasma.com/). The POIs were augmented with the 3D virtual reconstructions, and also with 2D images and videos representing 3D virtual tours and technological processes (Figures 3, 4, 5). The AR application was connected to teachers’ emails and to Twitter, Facebook and Google+ project’s pages.

Excavation: Roman villa of Waldling (2021-08-18)
This is an *unedited* 3D model of trench 2 (dated Aug. 18, 2021), which was made during the Waldling 2021's teaching excavation. The model shows the excavation's final state of that day during perfect light conditions due to a very cloudy sky. It was captured by an Apple iPad Pro (2021) using the in-built LIDAR sensor within less then 10 min (including processing time). This method seemingly provides a very quick way to capture quite accurate 3d models of single features or, as shown, whole trenches within effectively no time, especially compared to traditional image-based-modeling. For the results of a first test, refer to the model of [Aug. 18, 2021](https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/excavation-at-waldling-2021-08-16-d63440d836c7407da2bc86fd54b51fdc) Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
