Data files include the simulation results for a five-member ensemble of free-running simulations, simulations without the upward propagating diurnal migrating tide (DW1), and simulations without the upward propagating semidiurnal migrating tide (SW2).&nbsp;</p>

WACCM-X Northern Hemisphere Winter Ensemble

<p>Simulation output from the Whole Atmosphere Community Climate Model with thermosphere-ionosphere eXtension (WACCM-X) for 40 Northern Hemisphere winters. The simulations were performed as free-running simulations with constant geomagnetic and solar activity. Included output is the Northern Annular Mode (NAM), zonal mean temperature and zonal wind, residual circulation, atomic oxygen to molecular nitrogen ratio (O/N2), migrating semidiurnal tide (SW2), and the SW2 component of TEC. The data files are in support of the publication &ldquo;Influence of Stratosphere Polar Vortex Variability on the Mesosphere, Thermosphere, and Ionosphere&rdquo;</p>

WACCM-X Simulation Data during November 03-04, 2021

This dataset includes the ionosphere F2 region (Nmax), vertical plasma drifts (WI), zonal winds (U) and meridional winds (V), zonal electric fields (total, PPEF, NWD) on November 03-04, 2021 from WACCM-X simulation. The latitude and longitude ranges in the WACCMX_NmF2_2021_1103-1104.nc and WACCMX_WI_U_V_2021_1103-1104.nc is 40°S-40°N, 40°W-10°E between 19:00 and 23:55 UT on November 03-04. The WACCMX_ED_WI_2021_1103-1104.nc file includes zonal electric fields (total,PPEF, NWD) and WI (total, PPEF, NWD) at 0° longitude and -40 and 40° latitudes from 0 UT on November 03rd to 24 UT on November 04th . They are used to make figures 2-4 in the paper.

WACCM-X Simulations of September 2005 Solar Flare

This dataset contains simulation output from specified dynamics WACCM-X simulations of the solar flare that occurred on September 7, 2005. Included are vertical profiles of the electron density, conductivity, zonal wind, and vertical plasma drift at 285E and 320E geographic longitude at a 5 minute cadence for simulations with and without the effects of the solar flare. The resolution of the model output is 0.25 scale heights vertical resolution; 1.9 degrees latitude resolution. The simulation output is in support of a publication submitted to Geophysical Research Letters.
