WIP Osobovská Rocks (Osobovská Skála)
Location: [mapy.cz](https://en.mapy.cz/zakladni?x=13.4592145&y=49.4795178&z=19&m3d=1&height=181&yaw=-0.751&pitch=-35.75&base=ophoto&source=base&id=2120889) In 2006 there was an archeological excavation. The findings confirmed a settlement dated to the middle Eneolithic period, most likely up until the time of the Cham culture (3,200 – 2,700 B.C.). At least one dwelling with clay-covered walls existed on these rocks. For more details see Jan John, Petr Kočár: [Trial excavation...](http://www.academia.edu/1225608/Trial_excavation_of_talus_cone_at_the_Middle_Eneolithic_site_Radkovice_-_Osobovsk%C3%A1_sk%C3%A1la_and_its_archaeobotanical_analysis) All informations are based on Jan John's publications about the site. Technically it was a windy evening, so I went just for a better overview of the location from a safe height. The more detailed model is in progress. Created in RealityCapture by Capturing Reality from 253 images in 00h:26m:43s. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

WIP - Aquamarine Venus
**Edit:** [My final challenge entry here!](https://skfb.ly/6ysKL) After Venus in furs from the Velvet Underground ([listen on youtube](https://youtu.be/AwzaifhSw2c)), here is a marine wooden version of Venus de Milo, burnt, washed by the sea, then repaired by a skilled craftsman ! Another WIP for [Sketchfab texturing challenge](https://goo.gl/6RDQUi), based on [Venus de Milo (Aphrodite of Milos)](https://skfb.ly/VOvX) (274k tris) from the [SMK museum](https://sketchfab.com/smkmuseum) The modeling is done with simple boolean operation in blender, using an intermediate object sculpted by hand to carve the holes. The materials are, as usual, a mix of various PBR textures and simple Cycles nodes setups to mix in the zones of influence of the materials. There are way too many triangles and textures on that model in my taste... I'll probably upload a replacement with a more optimized version soon as I am quite happy with the results. WIP - Close-Helmet -16th century [NOW FREE]
Work in Progress # UPDATE: To celebrate 200 Sketchfab followers and since I am probably not going to finish this piece anytime soon, or at all, I decided to share the unifinished version for free for all purposes. **You can get the whole .blend and all Sourcefiles from the following Google Drive link, said files are shared under the Public Domain (CC0)** https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15tVXgVlT4BPpT4p4vvqpQHqF38b-2KrE?usp=sharing Based on reference sources from the Metropolitan Museum of Arts that are available under the public domain: https://www.metmuseum.org https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/732192 https://bit.ly/3dDBkuf Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
WIP - Exhibition room
**Edit:** [My final challenge entry here!](https://skfb.ly/6ysKL) A quick WIP for the [Sketchfab's texturing challenge](https://blog.sketchfab.com/sketchfab-texturing-challenge-classical-sculpture/) (no textures yet). An idea could be to try to display a few interestingly textured lowpoly versions of the statues in a virtual exhibition, revolving around a couple of flat shaded and naive versions of the statues. The statue remeshing was done from the high resolution scan, separating the hands, head and pubic region with blender and mmgs to keep some details while decimating. My first baking tests with complex materials went totally wrong though, so here is a WIP with just a roughness map and roughly baked (32 samples) lights from blender. Based on "[Doryphoros (The Spear Bearer)](https://sketchfab.com/models/2b213f98afa742a5880af130b4d4eddc)" by [SMK – National Gallery of Denmark](https://sketchfab.com/smkmuseum), licensed under CC Attribution" Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
WIP - Under the Dome
**Edit:** [My final challenge entry here!](https://skfb.ly/6ysKL) A by-product from my texturing and baking experiments for the Sketchfab Texturing Challenge, based on [Venus de Milo (Aphrodite of Milos)](https://skfb.ly/VOvX) (274k tris) from the [SMK museum](https://sketchfab.com/smkmuseum), and inspired from [engine9's model](https://skfb.ly/6xopo). Remeshed to a smooth mesh with [MMGS](mmgtools.org), then to a lower reolution one (7.6k tris) with blender decimate modifier. The normals were baked from the high poly version to the low poly one. A simple emissive/transparent material was added to the dome around the statue, taking as input the statue and text image and mixing emissive colors based on noise textues. The resulting lighting was baked in blender and is applied as an emission texture on the objects, which works quite well and looks convincing with the Queen Mary Chimney as an environment texture! WIP - L'homme à tête de chou
A first go at mixing and rigging existing scans to reproduce Serge Gainsbourg album cover: I actually wanted to try character animation (I'm new to this) to give statues different poses, so I created a [quick armature](https://youtu.be/Q2MGttB1E7U), and used automatic weights for rigging. *The rig I used* *Epic statue pose* Once I was hapy with the pose, I just added the cabage and stump, merged, textured and UV unwrapped. The textures are only 2K and many parts of the mesh are still way too stretched.. * [Stump scan](https://skfb.ly/68XnZ): @3dhdscan * [Statue](https://skfb.ly/F87P): @geoffreymarchal * [Cabbage scan](https://skfb.ly/ZEAI): @marcovolino [L'homme à tête de chou on youtube](https://youtu.be/2DEstQqgglk) Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
