Stiffness Moduli Modelling and Prediction in Four-Point Bending of Asphalt Mixtures: A Machine Learning-Based Framework within Weave-UNISONO 2021 project, NCN project No 2021/03/Y/ST8/00079, and GACR project GA22-04047K

<div><strong>Summary:</strong></div> <div>Two selected mixtures were thoroughly investigated in an experimental trial carried out by means of a four-point bending test (4PBT) apparatus. The mixtures were prepared using spilite aggregate, a conventional 50/70 penetration grade bitumen, and limestone filler. Their stiffness moduli (SM) were determined while samples were exposed to 11 loading frequencies (from 0.1 to 50 Hz) and 4 testing temperatures (from 0 to 30 &deg;C). Observations were recorded and used to develop a machine learning (ML) model. Investigating the ageing process of polymer modified bitumen using a modified Thin-Film Oven Test in the aspect of recycling purpose within Weave-UNISONO 2021 project, NCN project No 2021/03/Y/ST8/00079

<div><strong>Summary:</strong></div> <div>One polymer-modified bitumen PMB 25/55-60 was tested in two stages: original and after the modified Thin-Film Oven Test (TFOT). The time ranges from 1h-5h, and temperatures from 120&deg;C-200&deg;C were used. The Fourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy and Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) with parallel plates were conducted. Duhumbi crafts: leather work, weaving, bamboo craft

<p>Short description: This collection of videos, audio and photo files displays Duhumbi crafts, as recorded between 2012 and 2017. Three main crafts are the art of weaving, the bamboo (and cane) craft, and the leather craft. The weaving topic shows the carding of wool, preparing the warp, the backstrap loom and the various actions of weaving while weaving a bag panel, a bag strap and boot straps, parts of the backstrap loom, weaving tools, nettle fiber bags and some examples of designs on the traditional bags. The bamboo craft topic shows how a bamboo rope is twisted, and various bamboo products. Making connections: Coding, weaving and flamenco

<p>As part of the city-wide Sheffield Showcase weekend across the city in September 2021, live coding musician Lucy Cheesman, researcher/choreographer Rosa Cisneros and researcher/musician Alex McLean collaborated on a drop-in family workshop held at Pitsmoor Scout Hut in Sheffield UK. We explored different kinds of patterns with participants, focussing on the underlying algorithmic structures. In particular we explored weaving patterns using a semi-automated handloom driven by a simple programming language, sonic patterns using the live coding environment TidalCycles, and flamenco patterns using notations and of course our bodies! Film produced by Reel Master Production - https://www.reelmasterproduction.uk This workshop was funded as part of Sheffield Showcase with support from the University of Sheffield and Sheffield City Council, and a UKRI funded &#39;making connections&#39; grant awarded via the UK Science Festivals Network. Weaving the Penelope Fabric. Part I: Starting Borders.

<p>A famous vase from Chiusi depicts Penelope in front of a patterned fabric. The video demonstrates how such a fabric could have been woven on a warp-weighted loom, and presents the technique of combining two starting borders in tablet-weaving. The footage stems from 2009 when Ellen Harlizius-Kl&uuml;ck tried out the possibilities of a warp-weighted loom within an exhibition on ancient textile technology in the Clothiers Museum Bramsche (Germany).</p>

The footage stems from 2009 when Ellen Harlizius-Kl&uuml;ck prepared the loom for the 140 years anniversary of the Museum for Plaster Casts of Classical Sculptures Munich.</p>

<p>For this subject two video films were posted on Google+ (a performance and a 3D reconstruction), slightly different from those available on the Time Maps web site, but containing the same information. The children had to make a little effort to relate this information with the one presented on the site, to make a connection between the questions, the fragments from videos at which the answers referred to and the information from the site. The set of questionnaires lead the school children through the majority of data offered by the web site regarding to the two historical periods (Figures 9, 10).</p>

This represented the second educational level of the project, i.e. the analysis of the collected data. Information from c) was further analyzed by university teachers, filtered and added as an enhancement to the content of the AR platform. An example of user-created content are the movies made with smartphone cameras, recording the children2 while performing traditional crafts (Figures 11, 12).&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
