Dataset for the publication: Electrochemical transformation of D,L-glutamic acid into acrylonitrile

<p>The dataset comprehends the experimental data used as basis of the contribution on the electrochemical transformation of D,L-glutamic acid into acrylonitrile. The electrochemical transformation of D,L‑glutamic acid as substrate proceeds in several steps via&nbsp;electro-oxidative decarboxylation and non-Kolbe electrolysis. The provided data comprehend yields and faradaic efficiencies of the transformations under different reaction conditions.</p>

Universal behavior of low-temperature heat capacity of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene thermoplastic polymer and its composite with graphene oxide

<p>The low-temperature dependence of the heat capacity of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) polymer and its composite with thermally reduced graphene oxide was studied. The existence of a so-called &ldquo;boson peak&rdquo; characteristic of orientational and structural glasses was demonstrated. The boson peak appears in the form of a local maximum in the heat capacity curve displayed as C/T3&nbsp;vs T at Tmax = 3.52 K. It was found that for both ABS polymer and its composite, as well as for a number of other substances of a crystalline and amorphous nature, the manifestation of the anomaly of the boson peak in the heat capacity has a universal character that is described by an empirical function &Delta;*. The value of &Delta;* depends on the magnitude of the anomaly in the heat capacity and the temperature of the boson peak manifestation. Thus, this study provides new physical information about the possible causes of the boson peak appearance in disordered materials and indicates the universality of boson peak anomaly for substances with short- and long-range order</p>

Related research paper dataset</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>In fact, As known, purification is of the utmost significance in any chemistry process. Besides, eliminating impurities enhances the quality and standard of the product. The primary method for monomer purification, like acrylonitrile (AN), is the distillation technique. However, this technique is unsafe and hard to set up or handle. A straightforward, risk-free, and low-cost method like the column technique resolves these issues. Therefore, the data will be helpful in numerous applications, especially in polymerization reactions that require the removal of inhibitors before the polymerization initiation process.</p>

Synthesis of a novel aluminum salt of nitrogen-containing alkylphosphinate with high char formation to flame retard acrylonitrile –butadiene–styrene

<p>A novel nitrogen-containing alkylphosphinate salt----aluminum β-(p-nitrobenzamide) ethyl methyl phosphinate (AlNP) was synthesized and used to flame retard acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS). The Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, 1H, 13C and 31P nuclear magnetic resonance and X-ray fluorescent spectroscopy (XRF) were applied to characterize the structure and composition of products. The flame retardancy performance, thermal properties and mechanical strength of the ABS/AlNP with respect to AlNP loading were investigated. AlNP was stable before 330 oC and decomposed very slowly with residues high up to 56.1 % at 700 oC. Adding 25-30 wt% of AlNP alone can make ABS to pass V0 rating in the vertical burning tests (UL 94). The results according to the micro combustion calorimeter, thermogravimetric analysis showed that AlNP can depress the heating release and retard the thermal degradation of the ABS. Scanning electron microscopy observation for the residues from LOI test indicated that AlNP formed the condensed and tough residues layer during combustion; XRF analysis showed that the residues contained phosphorus and aluminum element and nitrogen element was not detected. The compact phosphorus/aluminium-rich substance acted as a barrier to enhance flame-retardant properties of the ABS.</p>
