Der königlich sächsische Hausorden der Rautenkrone. Genese, Verfasstheit und Verleihungspraxis eines Hausordens des 19. Jahrhunderts (The Royal Saxon House Order of the Rue Crown. Origin, constitution and award practice of a house order of the 19th century.)
<p>This data set was produced as part of a <a href="https://www.academia.edu/86314498/Der_königlich_sächsische_Hausorden_der_Rautenkrone_Genese_Verfasstheit_und_Verleihungspraxis_eines_Hausordens_des_19_Jahrhunderts">bachelor's thesis on the Royal Saxon House Order of the Rue Crown</a> (<em>Orden der Rautenkrone</em>) at the University of Greifswald. The thesis examines the award practices of the Grand Masters of the Order and attempts to draw conclusions about social circumstances. </p> <p>For the work, a data set was created that includes all knights of the Order of the Rue Crown in the period from 1807 to 1918. The names of the beloved were expanded to include a standardised name (GND) and their life data, GND/Wikidata identifier and main geographical affiliation as well as rank and profession. </p> <p>The data here are provided as Numbers and Excel files. Furthermore, the individual tables have been exported into CSV format (Note: in Excel, the CSV files may be displayed incorrectly despite UTF-8 encoding - especially with special characters and umlauts)</p> <p>The dates are not yet completely accurate. For example, in the case of the standardised names, since the persons concerned may have received the corresponding status (king, etc.) only later after the award. The data sets are in constant development. If you have additional information about an entry or have discovered an error, please feel free to contact me. </p>
FOPPA: A database of French Open Public Procurement Award notices
<p>The FOPPA database (French Open Public Procurement Award notices) is a database constituted in the framework of the ANR DeCoMaP project (ANR-19-CE38-0004). It contains public procurement notices published in France from 2010 to 2020. It relies on a subset of the TED database. These data have a number of issues, the most serious being that the unique ID of most involved agents are missing. We performed a number of operations to solve these issues and obtain a usable database. These operations and their outcomes are described in detail in the following technical report:</p> <p>L. <p>Dataset of the Polish, German and Czech literary prizes for the needs of research into European literary prizes environment. This is the test version for the sake of preliminary research and data model validation. This dataset relies heavily on the Wikidata and Wikipedia entities with elements of manual label and harmonisation of people, works and organisations with the LOD cloud.</p> <p>Most of this dataset is available under the CC0 license (all Wikidata data, data model itself and any additions from the authors of the dataset), but it also contains information from VIAF (Virtual International Authority File) which is made available under the ODC Attribution License.</p>

Impact of major awards on the subsequent work of their recipients
<p>To characterize impact of major research awards on recipients' subsequent work, we studied Nobel Prize winners in Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, and Physics and MacArthur Fellows working in scientific fields. Using a case-crossover design, we compared scientists' citations, publications, and citations-per-publication from work published in a 3-year pre-award period to their work published in a 3-year post-award period. </p> <p>Nobel Laureates and MacArthur Fellows received fewer citations for post- than for pre-award work. This was driven mostly by Nobel Laureates. Median decrease was 112 citations among Nobel Laureates (p = .003) and 21 among MacArthur Fellows (p = .744). Mid-career (42–57 years) and senior (>57 years) researchers tended to earn fewer citations for post-award work. Early-career researchers (<42 years, all MacArthur Fellows), tended to earn more, but the difference was non-significant.</p> <p>MacArthur Fellows (p = .001) but not Nobel Laureates (p = .180) had significantly more post-award publications. Both populations had significantly fewer post-award citations per paper (p = .043 for Nobel Laureates, .005 for MacArthur Fellows, and .0004 for combined population).</p> <p>If major research awards indeed fail to increase (and even decrease) recipients' impact. One may need to reassess purposes, criteria, and impacts of awards to improve the scientific enterprise.</p>
