OpenCitations Meta RDF dataset of bibliographic resources metadata and its provenance information

This dataset is a specialized subset of the OpenCitations Meta RDF data, focusing exclusively on data related to bibliographic resources (http:///purl.org/spar/fabio/Expression). It contains all the metadata and its provenance information, structured specifically around bibliographic resources, in JSON-LD format.

The inner folders are named through the supplier prefix of the contained entities. It is a prefix that allows you to recognize the entity membership index (e.g., OpenCitations Meta corresponds to 06*0).

After that, the folders have numeric names, which refer to the range of contained entities. For example, the 10000 folder contains entities from 1 to 10000. Inside, you can find the zipped RDF data.

At the same level, additional folders containing the provenance are named with the same criteria already seen. Then, the 1000 folder includes the provenance of the entities from 1 to 1000. The provenance is located inside a folder called prov, also in zipped JSON-LD format.

For example, data related to the entity is located in the folder /br/06250/10000/1000/1000.zip, while information about provenance in /br/06250/10000/1000/prov/se.zip

Additional information about OpenCitations Meta at the official webpage.

Raw and aggregated data for the study introduced in the paper "The way we cite: common metadata used across disciplines for defining bibliographic references"

These data have been gathered in the context of a study aiming to investigate citation practices for referencing different types of entities and, in particular, for understanding the most used metadata in bibliographic references. The data are stored in two documents in XLSX format:

file "links-intext-pointers-and-cited-entity-types.xlsx" - it contains information about whether the in-text reference pointers of the various PDF articles of the corpus have specified hypertextual links from the in-text reference pointers to the denoted bibliographic reference, plus information about the types of all the entities cited by each article in the corpus;

file "metadata-bibliographic-references.xlsm" - it contains information about the metadata used to identify the various descriptive elements of all the bibliographic references defined in the article of the corpus.

The methodology used to gather all these data is described in:

Santos, E. A. d., Peroni, S., Mucheroni, M. L.: Workflow for retrieving all the data of the analysis introduced in the article "Citing and referencing habits in Medicine and Social Sciences journals in 2019". Bibliographic metadata of articles in "Krankenpflege" and "GERONTOLOGIE CH. Praxis + Forschung" published by Swiss university members

The swissuniversities-funded project GOAL (Unlocking the Green Open Access PotentiaL in scholarly and professional journals in Switzerland) aims to develop case scenarios for the semi-automatic inclusion of full-text articles from professional journals in Open Access repositories. These articles originate from journals with which the project has successfully negotiated self-archiving rights. To this end, the project is testing semi-automated workflows that process and enrich bibliographic metadata and full-texts provided by two professional journals. The dataset contains bibliographic metadata of articles published in the two professional journals “Krankenpflege” (ISSN: 0253-0465) and “GERONTOLOGIE CH. Praxis + Forschung” by members of Swiss higher education institutions (HEI). Metadata provided by the publisher itself (Gerontologie CH.) or the database CINAHL Ultimate (“Krankenpflege”) were obtained, enriched, partly checked, and corrected to create a list of articles in tabular form as Excel and CSV of all articles published by Swiss university members between 2020 and 2023. Additionally, a table with the names of all swissuniversities members was created as a reference point to normalize the affiliation data.
