The top 100 most influential articles in olfactory disorder: a bibliometric analysis
<p><strong>Introduction</strong><strong>:</strong> Studies on olfactory disorder have varied considerably in content and field over the past four decades. Influential publications of olfactory disorder have not been analyzed quantitatively. This study aimed to analyze the top 100 most influential articles in olfactory disorder through bibliometrics.</p> <p><strong>Methods:</strong> The researchers searched the Web of Science Core Collection for publications from 1980 to August 31, 2021. The top 100 highly cited articles were screened in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The journal impact factor and the SCImago Journal Rank indicator were searched for the journal in which the top-cited articles were published. The researchers analyzed the data via Microsoft Excel and SPSS 24.0 and used VOSviewer software for data visualization.</p> <p><strong>Results:</strong> The total citations of the top 100 articles have increased exponentially, especially in the past 2 years. The journal LARYNGOSCOPE contributed the most influential papers (n=6). The United States published the most top 100 articles (n=52), followed by Germany and the United Kingdom. The University of Pennsylvania published the most influential studies, with a total of 3,852 citations. Richard L. Doty and Thomas Hummel contributed the most influential literature, and the top 100 studies also cited their research frequently. The most important articles in the field of OD mainly focused on COVID-19, Parkinson's disease and olfactory tests.</p> <p><strong>Conclusion:</strong> Neurodegenerative diseases and COVID-19-related olfactory disorders have been considered main topics over the past 40 years. This study identified the most influential articles for olfactory disorder researchers, providing guidance for their research.</p>

The methodology employed was based on a systematic review of documents and scientific publications related to the study object from 2004 to the present utilizing the Scopus database and the 'bibliometrix' package in the R programming language. Several decision steps were followed to ensure the reliability and validity of the analysis. The findings allowed for the identification of the most cited journals, the most prominent authors, and the most common affiliations among the authors of the analyzed documents. Additionally, different models of learning style preferences and their impact on the teaching process were explored. The findings contribute significantly to understanding the dynamics of research in the studied discipline. Regarding the most cited journals, "Computers & Education" was found to be the leading journal in terms of the total number of citations, followed by "Educational Research Review" and "Learning and Instruction". As for the most prominent authors, several relevant names were identified, such as David Kolb, Richard Felder, and Peter Honey. Regarding the most common affiliations among the authors, it was found that several Spanish universities lead this list. On the other hand, this study explored different learning style models and their impact on the educational process. It was found that there is a wide variety of theoretical models on learning style, but there is no clear consensus on which model is best to apply in an educational context. However, the importance of considering students' learning styles to adapt the educational process to their individual needs was highlighted. In conclusion, this bibliometric analysis provides an overview of the current state of ILS research and can be useful for researchers, educators, and professionals interested in this field. The obtained results can also be used to identify current trends in ILS research and to guide future investigations in this area.</span></p>

<p>Gender equality and Open Access (OA) are priorities within the European Research Area (ERA) and cross-cutting issues in European research program H2020. Gender and openness are also key elements of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). However, despite the common underlying targets of fostering an inclusive, transparent and sustainable research environment, both issues are analysed as independent, unrelated topics.<br> This paper represents a first exploration of the inter-linkages between gender and OA analysing the scientific production of researchers of the Italian National Research Council under a gender perspective integrated with the different OA publications modes. A bibliometric analysis was carried out for articles published in the period 2016-2018 and retrieved from the Web of Science. Results are presented constantly analysing CNR scientific production in relation to gender, disciplinary fields and OA publication modes. These variables are also used when analysing articles that receive financial support.<br> Our results indicate that gender disparities in scientific production still persist in particularly in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), while in medical and agricultural sciences the gender gap is the closest to parity. A positive dynamic toward OA publishing and women scientific production is shown when open disciplines with well-established practices are related to articles supported by funds. A slightly higher women propensity toward OA is shown when considering Gold OA,OA or authorships with women in the first and last article by-line position. Moreover, the prevalence of Italian funded articles with women’s contributions published in Gold OA journals seems to confirm this tendency, especially if considering the week enforcement of the Italian OA policies.</p>
Digitalisation to improve automated agro-export logistics: Comprehensive bibliometric analysis
<p><strong>Introduction/objective</strong>: Digitalization in logistics transcended in the search for continuous improvement of good process optimization. This study aims to know the effectiveness of digitization implemented by companies to improve the automated logistics of cross-border trade in the agricultural sector.</p> <p><strong>Methodology</strong>: A bibliometric analysis was generated, exploring the evolution of the state of the art through Scopus, WOS and Dimensions databases, in order to select relevant empirical studies on digitization and automated logistics, using quality criteria and the application of the Prisma 2020 flowchart.</p> <p><strong>Results:</strong> Since 2017, there were signs of increased interest from researchers, highlighting authors such as Zoubek, Kumar and Ghobakhloo. This review provided insight into how digitization contributes to cost and time optimization in the logistics chain. Designing public policies allows a better integration of technology, such as IoT and AI. It identified 3 important blocks that have contributed to the effectiveness of digitization in automated logistics, they refer to “Impact of digitization on logistics efficiency and supply chain”, “Technology integration and automation in cross-border logistics” and “Governance, policy and social considerations in logistics digitization”.</p> <p><strong>Conclusions</strong>: Digitalization has been a fundamental element to improve logistics and make it autonomous within cross-border trade, allowing technology to get involved, integrating digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), which reduced obstacles affecting the supply chain.</p>

Information literacy in the area of Library and Information Science. A bibliometric analysis in Latin America, from the Lens database (2001-2020).
<p>The results of scientific production on ALFIN (2001-2020) in the areas of Library and Information Science are shown. All BIC journals were identified from Latindex. Then it was verified whether these journals were contained in the following databases: Web of Science (Core Collection and Scielo Citation Index), Scopus, Lens and Dimensions. The Lens database was chosen for retrieving records on ALFIN and performing the bibliometric analysis, as it has the highest coverage of BIC journals in Latindex. The trend and growth of scientific production were evaluated according to authors and year of publication; the productivity of authors was analyzed using Lotka's Law and the dispersion of the literature according to Bradford's Law. The degree, index and coefficient of collaboration were determined and collaboration networks were identified according to authors. The results show that scientific production on ALFIN in Latin America, reached a peak between 2017 and 2018, presenting a decrease from 2019 onwards. It was also observed that the production, collaboration between authors and the number of journals is predominantly Brazilian.</p>
Challenges and Realities in Asian Elephant Research: A Global Bibliometric Analysis Highlighting Conservation Crises and Collaborative Opportunities
<p><span>The Asian elephant (<em>Elephas maximus</em>), also known as Asiatic elephant is facing a significant decline in its wild populations due to habitat loss, fragmentation and degradation, leading to increased conflicts between humans and elephants. Preserving this iconic species is crucial, prompting researchers to explore various aspects of its biology, behavior, ecology, and conservation efforts. </span><span>In light of the profound importance of this subject</span><span>, this study utilizes a descriptive systematic literature review (SLR) to examine global research trends on Asian elephants. Analyzing a dataset of 1,780 articles spanning from 1914 to 2022, the study reveals a notable increase in publications, particularly since 2000, with 142 articles published in 2022 alone. This research provides a comprehensive overview of advancements in Asian elephant studies, promoting international collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers. While research from leading scientific countries can aid in conservation efforts, there is a call for more inclusive, participatory and fair approaches. The study demonstrates a commitment to Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity (EID) by adopting a multifaceted approach that considers the needs, perspectives and contributions of diverse stakeholders. By addressing disparities and advocating for social justice within elephant conservation, the study emphasizes the urgent need for collective action in conservation, welfare improvement, conflict resolution, ecosystem balance, and overall enhancement of understanding about Asian elephants. Serving as a valuable resource for policymakers, conservation organizations, and researchers, the study not only synthesizes existing literature but also identifies research gaps, highlights areas requiring immediate attention, and offers collaborative opportunities for global scientists to contribute to the well-being and preservation of this majestic species.</span></p>

The title of this study is Mapping the Evolution of Computational Thinking in Education: A Bibliometrics Analysis of Scopus Database from 1987 to 2023.</p> <p>In the online listing of the appendix, we will find three figures (Figure 5, Figure 6, and Figure 12) and three tables (Table 3, Table 4, and Table 4), also several references related to this research. It was important to us that the core of the study that is now being carried out not be diminished in any way, which is why we chose the photos and tables we did. This study was conceived and supported by the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP), which the Ministry of Finance administers in the Republic of Indonesia, to evaluate current trends and research problems in computational thinking for education. The Scopus database was used, and its range of coverage was from 1987 to 2023.</p> <p> </p>

Use of artificial intelligence techniques for the recognition of human emotions: a bibliometric analysis
<p>Human emotion recognition with AI uses physiological, audiovisual, and linguistic signals. Despite its importance and great progress in emotion recognition, several challenges remain in generalization and evaluation through standards and shared data, as well as other research gaps. Therefore, the objective is to analyze the scientific production on the use of artificial intelligence techniques for the recognition of human emotions. This study uses bibliometric analysis following the guidelines of the PRISMA-2020 statement for literature reviews. Based on the results of the bibliometrics on the use of artificial intelligence techniques in for the recognition of human emotions, significant conclusions are obtained that improve the understanding of the current panorama in this field of research. A growing interest in the subject is observed during the years 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020, which demonstrates the relevance and potential of artificial intelligence in the recognition of human emotions. A cubic polynomial growth in the number of scientific articles is observed, demonstrating a constant expansion of knowledge and support for future trends. Leading authors and journals are identified, highlighting global collaboration in China and India. The thematic evolution shows maturity and progressive specialization, with emerging concepts that promise future research and innovative applications.</p>
