Main Sequence + Compact Object binary candidates from Gaia DR3 astrometric and spectroscopic excess noise

MS+CO systems selected from Gaia DR3 via inferred periods and mass ratios derived from astrometric and spectroscopic errors.

The sample is split into a bronze list (significant astrometric and spectroscopic RUWE, mass ratio > 1 and companion mass > 3 Msun).

A subset of these is chosen as a silver list (propagating errors on mass ratio and companion mass to deselect systems which are not significantly above the previous criteria)

Finally, a gold list is constructed from the subset of the silver list which shows no evidence of being significantly brighter than a single MS star and with no significant excess photometric noise.

We include the most relevant Gaia data for the system, as well as our inferred spectroscopic and photometric errors and RUWEs, and the inferred periods and mass ratios. Gaia's DR3 source id, and the ra, dec position are included and thus other Gaia data, or data from other astronomical catalogs, can be found for these systems.

The catalog and the underlying methods are explained in more detail in Andrew et al. 2022.

The Complicated Case of δ Scuti Pulsations and Rotation in KIC 6951642; a long-orbit Single-lined Spectroscopic Binary Star

Abstract: More than four years of HERMES observations have confirmed KIC 6951642 is a very long orbit (≈1770 d) single-lined spectroscopic binary (F0-type) with a fast-rotating companion (vsin i = 123±3 Km/s). The Fourier spectrum of its four-year photometric observations includes plenty of significant frequencies (594) in low- and high-frequency regions. The high-frequency modes appear with various time-delay patterns. We detected several rotationally split 𝛿 Scuti pulsations centered at 13.96 per day (and average frequency spacing of Δ𝑓= 0.723±0.006 per day) for KIC 6951642. The detailed study of all significant low frequencies, extended from 0.72 to 3.60 per day, revealed that the two most dominant frequencies (with the same amplitude and larger than of p-modes) are a combina3on the lowest-frequency modes (𝑓3 = 𝑓< 0.17 per day), i.e. 𝑓orhrm + 𝑚𝑓orhrm (𝑚 = 12,14). We suggest the lowest-frequency modes are very large harmonics (orders of 10) of orbital frequency (≈0.0006 per day). We verified the other most dominant low-frequencies as harmonics of rotation frequency 0.721 per day and its combinations. Finally, we reject the probability of hybrid pulsations in the fast-rotating companion of KIC 6951642. We introduce it as a 𝛿 Scuti pulsator with a candidate rotation frequency of 0.721 per day.

Spectroscopic Binary Orbits Ninth Catalog (Dynamic Version)
The Ninth Catalog of Spectroscopic Binary Orbits (SB9) continues the series of compilations of spectroscopic orbits carried out over the past 35 years by Batten and collaborators, e.g., the 8th SBO Catalog (SB8, CDS Catalog V/64) of Batten, Fletcher and MacCarthy 1989, Publ. DAO, 17, 1. This catalog is regularly updated. This version of SB9 contains orbits for over three thousand binary systems; notice that the numbers of orbits and binary systems included in this version differ from those in the reference publication, as the latter reflected the 2004 May 1 status of the catalog, when it had 2694 orbits for 2386 binary systems. There is an online version of this catalog, maintained by the authors, which is continuously updated, at http://sb9.astro.ulb.ac.be/. This table was created by the HEASARC based on the CDS Catalog B/sb9, using the files main.dat, alias.dat, orbits.dat and notes.txt. The CDS updates it regularly, and this HEASARC version is accordingly updated within a week of such updates. This is a service provided by NASA HEASARC .
An observed population of intermediate-mass helium stars that have been stripped in binaries - Raw Spectroscopic Data

This repository contains the raw spectroscopic data obtained for the stars described in the manuscript "An observed population of intermediate-mass helium stars stripped in binaries" by Drout, Götberg, Ludwig, Groh, de Mink, O'Grady and Smith. All data was obtained with the Magellan Echellette spectrograph (MagE) on the 6.5-meter Magellan-Baade telescope at Las Campanas Observatory, Chile. We organize the data as follows:

Calibrations.tar.gz contains relevant calibration files. Specifically, bias frames, red flats, blue flats, and frames that can be used for echelle order-defintion in the MagE pipeline.

Files of the form Star1.tar.gz, Star2.tar.gz, etc. contain all of the individual science frames for each star that were used to make the final combined spectra published in Drout, Götberg, et al. as well as Thorium-Argon lamps taken immediately before or after each science frame.
