Stream TASCC nutrient additions conducted in headwater streams of the Caribou-Poker Creeks Research Watershed (CPCRW) and along the Steese Highway during the summer of 2013.
Instantaneous additions of acetate-DOM, birch leachate-DOM, N+P, N alone, and P alone were conducted in headwater streams of the Caribou-Poker Creeks Research Watershed (CPCRW) and along the Steese Highway during the summer of 2013 to characterize how DOM affected uptake of inorganic N and P. Nutrient uptake was calculated using the TASCC method (Covino et al. 2010) and stream water chemistry was analyzed by colorimetric and chromatographic methods.
Carbon Dynamics Along a Permafrost Gradient at Caribou-Poker Creeks Research Watershed (CPCRW) in Interior Alaska: Active Layer Depth (ALD) in a 75x75m spatial domain along a permafrost and vegetation gradient.
This dataset includes active layer depth (ALD) data across a 75x75m spatial domain in the Caribou-Poker Creeks Research Watershed. Project summary: Specific leaf area (SLA, leaf area per unit dry mass) is a key canopy structural characteristic, a measure of photosynthetic capacity, and an important input into many terrestrial process models. Although many studies have examined SLA variation, relatively few data exist from high latitude, climate-sensitive permafrost regions. We measured SLA and soil and topographic properties across a boreal forest permafrost transition, in which forest composition changed as permafrost deepened from 54 to >150 cm over 75 m hillslope transects in Caribou-Poker Creeks Research Watershed, Alaska. This is an exploratory study to begin understanding SLA variation and controls thereof in a non-contiguous permafrost system.

This dataset contains 15 min stream temperature and chemistry (nitrate-N, fDOM, specific conductivity, turbidity, dissolved oxygen) of streams draining the C2, C3, P6, and C4 subcatchments of the Caribou-Poker Creeks Research Watershed (CPCRW). Photosynthetic active radiation at the stream surface is also provided. Data is given in tidy format: each variable forms 1 column, each 15-min observation forms 1 row, and data is sortable by site and timestamp.
