Long-term immunity against yellow fever in children vaccinated during infancy: a longitudinal cohort study
<p>The data represent the concentrations of specific neutralizing antibodies following infant immunization against yellow fever. We used a microneutralization assay to measure protective antibodies against yellow fever virus in 587 Malian and 436 Ghanaian children vaccinated around age 9 months, and followed for 4.5 years (Mali), or 2.5 and 6 years (Ghana). We standardized antibody concentrations with reference to the yellow fever WHO International Standard.</p> <p>The serum samples used in this study, and the sample metadata included in the present dataset originate from trials of the meningococcal group A conjugate vaccine, MenAfriVac, namely the PsATT-004 (phase II) and Pers-004 (phase IV) studies in Ghana, and the PsATT-007 (phase III) and Pers-007 (phase IV) studies in Mali (clinical trial registry numbers ISRCTN82484612, ISRCTN10763234, PACTR201110000328305, and ISRCTN37623829). MenAfriVac was developed by PATH and Serum Institute India Pvt. Ltd. (SIIPL).</p> <p>This dataset consists of three files:</p> <p>1. Non-Targeted Screening of Organic Compounds in Environmental and Biological Matrices Related to Children's Environmental Exposure in South Florida, 2022-2024
This dataset provides a comprehensive list of chemicals relevant to children’s exposure from both dietary and non-dietary sources, across five environmental and biological matrices: drinking water (n = 206), food (n = 203), urine (n = 183), soil (n = 178), and household dust (n = 164). Samples were collected between May 2022 and June 2024 in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, Florida. A non-targeted screening approach using high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) coupled with liquid chromatography was employed for analysis, with matrix-specific preparation methods: online solid-phase extraction (SPE) for water and urine, QuEChERS for food, and accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) for soil and dust. Analyses were conducted in full-scan mode under both positive and negative electrospray ionization to maximize compound detection coverage. Compound identification was performed using Compound Discoverer software, incorporating spectral and structural databases such as mzCloud, ChemSpider, ClassyFire, and MassList. Annotations were based on exact mass, mass error threshold (<5ppm), predicted molecular formula, retention time alignment, isotopic pattern fit, MS/MS spectral similarity, and match confidence levels derived from integrated spectral libraries and database scoring algorithms. Quality assurance was maintained through the use of quality control (QC) samples across all matrices and analytical batches. The integration of non-targeted analysis, matrix-optimized extraction, and rigorous QA/QC practices makes this dataset a valuable resource for environmental exposomics, chemical risk assessment, and evidence-based public health policy development.

Reference percentiles for carotid measures of subclinical atherosclerosis in children and adolescents – Data from the KiGGS study
<p>The dataset presents reference centile data for carotid intima-media thickness as well as four carotid stiffness parameters. The reference percentiles are based on data from the German Health Interview and Examination Survey for Children and Adolescents 2003-2006 (KiGGS). KiGGS started as a cross-sectional study conducted between 2003 and 2006 which was based on a nationally representative sample and aimed at obtaining comprehensive data on the health of children and adolescents aged 0 to 17 years living in Germany. Detailed information on study design and conduct has been published in peer reviewed journals as well as detailed papers on individual parameters. The documentation provides relevant references.<br> <br> 11 years later, KiGGS Wave 2 (2014-2017) was conducted as an interview and examination survey. Carotid sonography was attempted at follow-up (KiGGS2) in all 4,798 participants of the KiGGS cohort aged 14 to 28 years. Carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) was successfully measured in 4,709 participants. Reference centiles for the distensibility coefficient, stiffness index ß, Young's elastic modulus and Peterson's elastic modulus were computed using data on 4,305 adolescents and young adults aged 14 to 28.</p>

<p>This is the behavioral and fMRI dataset described in "Nurturing the reading brain: Home literacy practices are associated with children’s neural response to printed words through vocabulary skills". </p> <p>Because of anonymization concerns within the framework of EU privacy regulations (<a href="https://gdpr-info.eu">GDPR</a>), we cannot provide raw MRI data. Therefore, the fMRI data consists of individual pre-processed volumes, normalized into the MNI template (see paper for details about the preprocessing pipeline). Anonymized behavioral data and first level analyses are also provided for each participant (SPM.mat file as well as beta, con, spmT, RPV and ResMS files). Note that the dataset also include runs and GLM results for a third task (Dots) that was not analyzed in the paper. Finally, the <a href="https://www.psychopy.org">PsychoPy</a> implementation of the tasks is also provided. <p>These datasets contain supplementary material for the article " Experimental data about the evacuation of preschool children from nursery schools, Part II: Movement characteristics and behaviour " accepted to Fire Safety Journal on April 16, 2023 (DOI <a href="https://doi.org/10.1016/j.firesaf.2023.103797">10.1016/j.firesaf.2023.103797</a>). The article presents experimental data sets on the evacuation movement and behaviour of preschool children observed during 15 evacuation drills in 10 nursery schools in the Czech Republic involving 970 children (3-7 years of age) and 87 staff members. </p> <p>In the presented spreadsheets, raw experimental data on speed-density and flow-density relationships are provided separately for corridors, straight staircases (flights, landings, and entire staircase), and doorways. The movement travel speed ('Speed') is expressed in [m·s<sup>-1</sup>], specific flow ('Flow') in [pers·s<sup>-1</sup>·m<sup>-1</sup>], density variable is expressed in the units of [pers·m<sup>−2</sup>] ('Density1') and [m<sup>−2</sup>·m<sup>−2</sup>] ('Density2'). Observations made for the different age groups of children are distinguished by letters: 'J' – Junior, 'S' – Senior, 'S+' - Senior+, 'M' – Mixed. In speed-density data sets, observations for walking children are denoted as 'W', for running children as 'R' (e.g., 'JW' – Junior walking). Speed-density data points that were calculated by excluding waiting times of children (only in the spreadsheets for corridors and landings of straight staircases) are marked 'M' after age group denotation (e.g., 'SWM-Speed' – modified speed data points for Senior walking children).</p>
