This list is in Estonian.</p> <p>Bone list of bones from Viimsi I <em>tarand </em>cemetery. This list is in English.</p> <p>Bone list template with a table heading proposal, both in Estonian and English.</p> <p>A table of excavated <em>tarand </em>cemeteries, when and by whom they were excavated and whether and where these bones are stored. </p>

<p>First release of RTI file for stone tembetá (lip-plug) recovered from Cluster 8 cremated deposit of Mound A, at the Abreu Garcia Mound and Enclosure complex, Santa Catarina, Brazil during the 2015 excavation season as part of the Jê Landscapes of Southern Brazil project. Infrared and Isotope data from cremated human remains
<p>This dataset contains the infrared and isotopic data obtained from recently deceased cremated individuals of known residential history from the UTK Donated Skeletal Collection curated by the Forensic Anthropology Center (Knoxville, Tennessee). By carrying out these measurements on different bones with different turnover rates (i.e., otic capsule of the petrous part of the temporal bone, femur, and rib), we endeavor to reconstruct life histories of recently deceased cremated individuals and gain new insights into cremation practices. The results highlight differences in carbon and oxygen isotopes between different skeletal elements and confirm their potential to gather information about the way a body was burned (e.g. temperatures, fuel used). Strontium concentrations and isotope ratios were also measured to assess the geographical origin of these individuals. The use of strontium isotope ratios, however, seem to have limitations for individuals born in the last few decades due to globalization of consumed food resources. </p>
Fracturing and coloring of cremated bones from a Neolithic mortuary house at Bollbacken, Sweden
<p>Spreadsheet containing analysis of types of fractures and coloring of cremated human and animal bones found in a mortuary house at the site Bollbacken, Västmanland, Sweden. The site belonged to the Pitted Ware culture and was dated to ca 2600-2300 BCE. The analysis was done as part of a PhD project studying cremation practices in 3rd millennium BCE Sweden, particularly evidence of whether the dead had been cremated shortly after death, or when they were de-fleshed. </p> <p>Version 1_1 contains persistent identifiers for key concepts in the dataset (geographical locations, museum inventory number etc)</p>
Bronze Age Cremation Vessels
Two Bronze Age cremation vessels excavated in South Wales. The larger vessel had collapse inwards while the smaller vessel remained relatively intact.
