Character of the Pakpak Traditional House Ornament as a Culture of Local Wisdom

This paper discusses the traditional character of the Pakpak tribe, and the various ornaments that are highlighted in the traditiona house of the local community. The character possessed by the meaning of good values will explere similarities and differences and can be studied in theological and retional patterns. The narrative presentation generally circulates in the representation of environmental and cultural sustainability, it aims to direct national cultural knowledge relevant to global interests. This paper will try to explore what lessons can be learned from understanding ornamental characters that still exist in ethnic circles for the development of the creative economy which has recently become material about the impact of their respective socil environments. The last section leads to the management of the regional creative economy and explores the types of ornaments in the form of ideas to be applied in existing institutions, and what changes may be required for the local cultural scene.

Data from: Cultural flies: conformist social learning in fruit flies predicts long-lasting mate-choice traditions

Despite theoretical justification for the evolution of animal culture, there is still scant empirical evidence for it beyond mammals and birds, and we still know little about the process of cultural inheritance. Here, we propose a mechanism-driven definition of animal culture and test it in the fruit fly. We found that fruit flies have five cognitive capacities that enable them to transmit mating preferences culturally across generations, potentially fostering persistent traditions (the main marker of culture) in mating preference. A transmission chain experiment validates a model of the emergence of local traditions indicating that such social transmission may lead initially neutral traits to become adaptive, hence strongly selecting for copying and conformity, a situation that, although suggested decades ago, still had little empirical support.

"This was on this huge market Kikar Shabat in Jerusalem. Iwas on holiday in Israel during a Jewish Festival called Sukkot. I live in England and I'm a Jew. Iwas in the market to buy lulav and estrog. It was a huge traditional festive fair opened a week after Sukkot. It was my first trip to Israel since Iwas a teenager. There was bustle, a lot of Jews. Irecorded this sound, because Iwanted to have a souvenir, to keep this experience of this bustle and hubbub". [Mike/Sparrer]11 in Collecting Sounds.
