Film Programming in the USSR: A Case Study of Moscow Cinemas (1946–1955)
<p>This paper presents a database on film programming in Moscow cinemas between 1946 and 1955. It outlines the place of this research at the intersection of new cinema history and academic debates on film distribution in the field of Soviet history. The paper describes the data collection, the coding to present the data, and the structure of the database, which consists of the three datasets on Moscow film programming (1946–1955), Moscow cinemas (1946–1955), and the 1952 film calendar. Concluding remarks summarize the knowledge obtained from the database and introduce the Soviet case into the international context of digital data collections for historical cinema studies.</p> <p>The database includes Cyrillic; it might require additional text encoding. </p> <p>The updated version includes the unique IDs for cinemas to increase the usability of the data. </p>

Comprehensive study of antimicrobial polycaprolactone/clay nanocomposite films: preparation, characterization, properties and degradation in simulated body fluid
<p>Even though the biodegradability of polycaprolactone (PCL) and its nanocomposites is lower compared to other biodegradable polyesters, this property and good biocompatibility are used for development of materials for drug delivery with a long-term effect. We prepared novel PCL/clay nanocomposite films with antimicrobials chlorhexidine (CH) or octenidine (OCT) combined with ZnO anchored on vermiculite (VER). The intercalation of CH and OCT into the interlayer of VER/ZnOVER was confirmed by XRD, FTIR and SEM. The organically modified nanofillers compared to VER (−46.0 mV) or ZnOVER (−34.9 mV) showed a positive ζ-potential (+30.7 mV (VER_CH), +21.9 mV (VER_OCT), +24.6 mV (ZnOVER_CH)) indicating a relatively stable materials, except ZnOVER_OCT (+8.6 mV), which strongly agglomerated.</p> <p>Thin PCL/clay films were prepared by solvent casting method and the effect of used nanofillers on structural, thermal, mechanical and antimicrobial properties followed by degradation under hydrolytic conditions was studied. The results showed that presence of ZnO significantly decreases thermal and mechanical stability. The nanofillers with the higher hydrophilic character are responsible for the fastest degradation of PCL matrix. Films possessed high antimicrobial efficiency in long time intervals, hence these nanocomposites open new avenues for the possible application of such materials for the drug delivery with a long-term effect.</p>

Data from: Study on the optimization of the deposition rate of planetary GaN-MOCVD films based on CFD simulation and the corresponding surface model
Metal-organic chemical vapour deposition (MOCVD) is a key technique for fabricating GaN thin film structures for light-emitting and semiconductor laser diodes. Film uniformity is an important index to measure equipment performance and chip processes. This paper introduces a method to improve the quality of thin films by optimizing the rotation speed of different substrates of a model consisting of a planetary with seven 6-inch wafers for the planetary GaN-MOCVD. A numerical solution to the transient state at low pressure is obtained using computational fluid dynamics. To evaluate the role of the different zone speeds on the growth uniformity, single factor analysis is introduced. The results show that the growth rate and uniformity are strongly related to the rotational speed. Next, a response surface model was constructed by using the variables and the corresponding simulation results. The optimized combination of the matching of different speeds is also proposed as a useful reference for applications in industry, obtained by a response surface model and genetic algorithm with a balance between the growth rate and the growth uniformity. This method can save time, and the optimization can obtain the most uniform and highest thin film quality.

Crystals 2023, 13, 724. https://doi.org/10.3390/ cryst13050724</p> <p> </p> <p>Abstract</p> <p>Emission <sup>57</sup>Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy (eMS), following the implantation of radioactive <sup>57</sup>Mn<sup>+</sup> ions, has been used to study the temperature dependence of the hyperfine magnetic field at Fe sites in Ba-doped BiFeO<sub>3</sub> (BFO) thin films. <sup>57</sup>Mn β decays (t<sub>1/2</sub> = 90 s) to the 14.4 keV Mössbauer state of <sup>57</sup>Fe, thus allowing online eMS measurements at a selection of sample temperatures during Mn implantation. The eMS measurements were performed on two thin film BFO samples, 88 nm and 300 nm thick, and doped to 15% with Ba ions. The samples were prepared by pulsed laser deposition on SrTiO<sub>3</sub> substrates. X-ray diffraction analyses of the samples showed that the films grew in a tetragonal distorted structure. The Mössbauer spectra of the two films, measured at absorber temperatures in the range 301 K–700 K, comprised a central pair of paramagnetic doublets and a magnetic sextet feature in the wings. The magnetic component was resolved into (i) a component attributed to hyperfine interactions at Fe<sup>3+</sup> ions located in octahedral sites (B<sub>hf</sub>); and (ii) to Fe<sup>3+</sup> ions in implantation induced lattice defects, which were characterized by a distribution of the magnetic field B<sub>Distr</sub>. The hyperfine magnetic field at the Fe probes in the octahedral site has a room temperature value of B<sub>hf</sub> = 44.5(9) T. At higher sample temperatures, the B<sub>hf</sub> becomes much weaker, with the Fe<sup>3+</sup> hyperfine magnetic contribution disappearing above 700 K. Simultaneous analysis of the Ba–BFO eMS spectra shows that the variation of the hyperfine field with temperature follows the Brillouin curve for <em>S</em> = 5/2.</p>
