SM2RAIN-ASCAT (2007-2021) global daily satellite rainfall including aggregated values and trend parameters as 10km resolution GeoTIFFs

This is a GeoTIFF version of the SM2RAIN-ASCAT (2007-2021): global daily satellite rainfall from ASCAT soil moisture data set v1.1 (Brocca et al. 2019). Conversion steps are available here. Few important notes:

Daily values are stored as integers, whereas in the NetCDF the dataset is rounded to one decimal place.

The NetCDF has also a Quality Flag for a better and more informed use of the data (here omitted).

P05, P50 and P95 indicate quantiles derived per pixel.

Includes also long-term trends (trend.logit.ols) which was produced by fitting regression models to de-seasonalized time-series as explained in this python tutorial. Basically models are fitted for each pixel and the model parameters are saved as images.

Monthly averages and s.d. of precipitation are available in the files:

clm_precipitation_sm2rain.*_m_10km_s0..0cm_2007..2021_v1.5.tif = monthly precipitation in mm,

clm_precipitation_sm2rain.*_sd.10_10km_s0..0cm_2007..2021_v1.5.tif = standard deviation of precipitation in mm * 10 per month (multiplied by 10 so Integers can be used),

Downscaled monthly averages (1 km) are also available (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.1435912).

To cite this data set please refer to the original copy of the data set.

Brocca, L., Filippucci, P., Hahn, S., Ciabatta, L., Massari, C., Camici, S., Schüller, L., Bojkov, B., Wagner, W. Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest 10m DEM: Raster GeoTiFF

The 7.5-minute digital elevation model (DEM) data are digital representations of cartographic information in a raster form. The DEMs consist of an array of elevations for ground positions at regularly spaced intervals. The data are produced in 7.5- by 7.5-minute blocks from either digitized cartographic map contour overlays of a scanned National Aerial Photography Program (NAPP) photographs. The DEM data are stored as profiles with a 10- or 30-meter square grid spacing along and between each profile. The original USGS DEM data (Mt. Kineo and Woodstock quadrangles) were merged and projected into UTM Zone 19. The resultant grid was clipped to a box surrounding the USDA Forest Service, Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest. Data distributed as GeoTIFF format in Coordinate system EPSG:26919 - NAD83 / UTM zone 19N.

HiTIC-Monthly: A Monthly High Spatial Resolution (1 km) Human Thermal Index Collection over China during 2003–2020 [GeoTIFF]

The monthly High spatial resolution human Thermal Index Collection (HiTIC-Monthly) includes near-surface air temperature (SAT) and 11 commonly used human-perceived temperature indices: indoor Apparent Temperature (ATin), outdoor shaded Apparent Temperature (ATout), Discomfort Index (DI), Effective Temperature (ET), Heat Index (HI), Humidex (HMI), Modified Discomfort Index (MDI), Net Effective Temperature (NET), simplified Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (sWBGT), Wet-Bulb Temperature (WBT), and Wind Chill Temperature (WCT). This dataset has a high spatial resolution of 1 km × 1 km and covers mainland China from January 2003 to December 2020. The overall R-square, root mean square error, and mean absolute error of the 12 thermal indices in the HiTIC dataset are 0.996, 0.693°C, and 0.512°C, respectively. It is compressed by year, and each zip package is composed of 12 monthly images in the GeoTIFF format. The unit of the dataset is 0.01 degree Celsius (°C), and the values are stored in an integer type (Int16) for saving storage space, and need to be divided by 100 to get the values in degree Celcius when in use. The projection coordinate system of the dataset is Albers Equal Area Conic Projection. The naming rule and other detailed information can be found in “README.pdf”.

If you have any questions when using the HiTIC-Monthly dataset, please feel free to contact Miss Hui Zhang via zhangh573@mail2.sysu.edu.cn, Dr. Ming Luo via luom38@mail.sysu.edu.cn, or Dr. Yongquan Zhao via zhaoyq66@mail.sysu.edu.cn.
