Particulate organic carbon (POC) concentration in meltwater runoff of Leverett Glacier, Russell Glacier, and Isunnguata Sermia, southwest Greenland (2009-2018)

This dataset describes particulate organic carbon (POC) and particulate carbon (PC) concentrations of suspended sediments in the proglacial rivers of 3 land-terminating glaciers in the Kangerlussuaq area, Southwest Greenland: Leverett Glacier (LG), Leverett River; Russell Glacier (RG), Akuliarusiarsuup Kuua; and Isunnguata Sermia (IS), Isortoq River. Both the Leverett River and Akuliarusiarsuup Kuua are tributaries of the Qinnguata Kuussua (also known as Watson River). The data have already been part of 3 different publications (Lawson et al. 2014, Kohler et al. 2017, and Vrbická et al. 2022) but are archived here for the first time.

POC data was collected for LG during the 2009 and 2010 melt seasons (Lawson et al. 2014) as well as 2015 (Kohler et al. 2017). For the 2018 melt season, only total carbon concentrations of suspended sediments (PC) is archived as opposed to POC (see Vrbická et al. 2022).

Glacier runoff projections and their multiple sources of uncertainty in the Patagonian Andes (40-56°S)

This dataset contains the catchment scale results of the study: "Unravelling the sources of uncertainty in glacier runoff projections in the Patagonian Andes (40–56° S)". The results are disaggregated in the following files (for more details, please read the README file):

- basins_boundaries.zip: Contains the polygons (in .shp format) of the studied catchments. Each catchment is identified by its "basin_id".

- dataset_historical.csv: Summarises the historical conditions of each glacier at the catchment scale (area, volume and reference climate).

- dataset_future.csv: Summarises the future glacier climate drivers and their impacts at the catchment scale.

- dataset_signatures.csv: Summarises the glacio-hydrological signatures of each glacier at the catchment scale.

Citation (preprint under review):

- Aguayo, R., Maussion, F., Schuster, L., Schaefer, M., Caro, A., Schmitt, P., Mackay, J., Ultee, L., Leon-Muñoz, J., and Aguayo, M.: Assessing the glacier projection uncertainties in the Patagonian Andes (40–56° S) from a catchment perspective, EGUsphere [preprint], https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2023-2325, 2023.

Timeseries of simulated glacier meltwater runoff for primary hydrological regions in Svalbard

Timeseries of annual cumulative glacier meltwater runoff for 14 primary hydrological regions of Svalbard, as well as one subregion, for the period September 2003 to September 2013. Regional glacier meltwater runoff are extracted from climatic mass balance simulations for all glaciers in Svalbard published by Aas et al., 2016, "The climatic mass balance of Svalbard glaciers: a 10-year simulation with a coupled atmosphere–glacier mass balance model", doi:10.5194/tc-10-1089-2016) and used in a manuscript by Dunse et al., 2021, "Regional-scale phytoplankton dynamics and their association with glacier meltwater runoff in Svalbard", submitted to the EGU journal Biogeosciences in July 2021

Simulated glacier runoff to 75 global major river basins (2000-2100, 3 glacier models)

This dataset accompanies our study examining projected, century-scale, glacier runoff simulated by three global glacier evolution models (GloGEM, OGGM, and PyGEM). The dataset includes glacier model projections for all 75 major river basins of interest and includes four Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) and twelve Global Climate Models (GCMs). Projections, originally provided as single glacier simulations for RGI (Randolph Glacier Inventory) regions of interest were aggregated at the basin scale using Jupyter notebooks. The dataset gives glacier runoff projections, for all three models, for each combination of GCM, SSP, and basin, with monthly resolution.
