SLOCLIM: A high-resolution daily gridded precipitation and temperature dataset for Slovenia
<p>SLOCLIM is a new high-resolution daily gridded precipitation and temperature dataset for Slovenia, covering the whole territory of Slovenia from 1950 to 2018. A grid of 1x1 km spatial resolution consists of 20,998 points for which daily maximum and minimum temperature and precipitation was calculated. The observed climatic information was provided by Slovenian Environment Agency (ARSO).</p>

Geophysical Research Letters, 50, e2023GL105231. https://doi.org/10.1029/2023GL105231</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>This dataset contains the gridded reconstruction of winter sea level pressure (slp), 2m temperature (t2m) and precipitation (precip) for the North Atlantic region over 1241-1970.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li><strong>Methodology:</strong> The new reconstruction (SEA18v2), has been optimized for a better representation of the variability of the main modes of sea level pressure. The original reconstruction, SEA18, was an ensemble of 39 model analogues for each year and the reconstruction comprised of the mean of the analogues. For the new version, SEA18v2, a different approach to calculating the ensemble mean of the analogues has been applied. While the overall evaluation and ranking of model analogues are the same as for SEA18, we now apply a weighting function so that poor-fitting model analogues receive less weight and good-fitting analogues receive more weight. Furthermore, we evaluate the main modes of the reconstructed SLP and test the minimum number of ensemble members that can be used and still retain skill for the temporal and spatial variability of the first three modes. Retaining 16 ensemble members gives better performance for the spatial patterns for the first three EOFs of SLP compared to SEA18 and good skill for the temporal variability of the NAO.</li> </ul>
Average monthly and annual precipitation spatial grids. (1971-2000 and 1980-1989), Andrews Experimental Forest
These files are spatially gridded precipitation of average monthly and annual precipitation for the climatological periods 1971-2000 and 1980-89, Andrews Experimental Forest. The original 1980-89 grids were updated for a greater time span and also the extent of the coverage is increased. Interpolation of point station measurements to a spatial grid was done using the PRISM model, developed by Christopher Daly of the PRISM Group at Oregon State University. PRISM interpolation accounts for the effects of elevation on the spatial patterns of precipitation. Grid resolution is 100 meters. Station data used in the interpolation were obtained from current and historic rain gauge stations within the forest. These grids represent the first significant effort to map climatological precipitation in the Andrews Forest. Further information on PRISM can be found at http://prism.oregonstate.edu/
Average daily air temperature, precipitation and relative sunshine duration for Vallon de Nant catchment, extracted from gridded MeteoSwiss data (1961-2020)
<p>This excel file contains time series of daily temperature, precipitation and relative sunshine duration obtained as the spatial average of gridded data sets. The underlying original gridded data sets produced by MeteoSwiss are known as RhiresD, TabsD and SrelD. All meta data are included in the excel file.</p> <p>The data can e.g. be used for hydrological modelling. Comparison to local station data is not included.</p> <p><strong>This data set as well as the original data set should be cited</strong>.</p>
CubaPrec1: A 48 years long term gridded daily precipitation dataset at very high-resolution for Cuba.
<p>CubaPrec1 is a new high-resolution gridded dataset for daily precipitation across Cuba from 1961-2008. The dataset was built using the information from the data series of 630 stations from the network operated by the National Institute of Water Resources. The original station data series were quality controlled using a spatial coherence process of the data, and the missing values were estimated on each day and location independently. Using the filled data series, a grid of 3 × 3 km spatial resolution was constructed by estimating daily precipitation and their corresponding uncertainties at each grid box. This new product represents a precise spatiotemporal distribution of precipitation in Cuba and provides a useful baseline for future studies in hydrology, climatology, and meteorology.</p>
The daily gridded precipitation observations (0.5° × 0.5°) in central and eastern China (1961-2021)
<p>The daily observed gridded precipitation data were obtained from the China Meteorological Data Service Center (<a href="http://www.nmic.cn/en">http://www.nmic.cn/en</a>) on 04-08-2021 but are currently not available at this website. These data have 128 columns and 72 rows with longitude and latitude starting from 72°E and 18°N, respectively. Spatial resolution is 0.5°×0.5°.</p> <p>Here, we provide these data during 1961-2021 in two study regions: central China (111°-116°E, 32°-37°N) and eastern China (118°-123°E, 28°-34°N). To make it easier for everyone to reuse the data, we select these data with adding two degrees in each direction of two regions. The selected data have 19 columns and 19 rows (21 columns and 19 rows) in central (eastern) China with the grid center's longitude and latitude ranging from (109°-118°E, 30°-39°N) to (116°-125°E, 26°-36°N). </p>
ACCESS-ESM-1.5 net-zero emissions 1000-year long simulations: Seasonal temperature and precipitation gridded data with area-average timeseries of temperature, precipitation and sea ice data
<p>NetCDF files used in analysis shown in King et al. (2024) https://egusphere.copernicus.org/preprints/2024/egusphere-2023-2961/.</p> <p>Seasonal-average mapped 1.5 metre air temperature temperature data are in NetCDFs with "fld_s03i236" in their name. These files are for boreal summer "JJA" or boreal winter "DJF". The "B20__" represents the start year of the net-zero emissions simulation from which these data are drawn. These files each have 1000 time-steps and the data are in native resolution of ACCESS-ESM-1.5: 1.875 degrees longitude by 1.25 degrees latitude.</p> <p>Seasonally-averaged precipitation rate (kg/m2/s) data are in NetCDFs with "fld_s05i216" in their name. Seasons and simulation information follow the same format as the temperature files.</p> <p>The file "ts_gwl.nc" includes several timeseries used in the paper including global-average SST ("TEMP_SURFACE"), global mean ocean temperature ("TEMP_GLOBAL"), and March/September Arctic ("ICEN") and Antarctic ("ICES") sea ice extent.</p> <p>The scripts used to make the Figures are included and run using IDL version 9.0. </p> <p>For any advice on using these files please feel free to contact me: andrew.king@unimelb.edu.au.</p>
