Data release for paper "Towards the routine use of subdominant harmonics in gravitational-wave inference: re-analysis of GW190412 with generation X waveform models"

This data release for the paper "Towards the routine use of subdominant harmonics in gravitational-wave inference: re-analysis of GW190412 with generation X waveform models" [arXiv:2010.2010.05830] contains posterior samples for the GW190412 binary black hole merger event obtained from public GWOSC data with the parallel bilby Bayesian inference package, dynesty nested sampler and a set of waveforms from the "generation X" of phenomenological waveform models: IMRPhenomXAS, IMRPhenomXHM, IMRPhenomXP, IMRPhenomXPHM, IMRPhenomT and IMRPhenomTHM. The provided file is a "meta file" that can be read with the PESummary python package. The posterior samples included correspond to runs [2,6,10,12,14,26] in Table III of the paper (standard settings for each waveform, standar priors and sampler settings of Nlive=2048 and Nact=10 or 50). If you make use of these samples, please cite both this data release and the paper.

Solid-state-like high harmonic generation from cluster molecules with rotational periodicities

High harmonic generation (HHG) from solid-state crystals in strong laser fields has been understood by the band structure of the solids, which is based on the periodic boundary condition (PBC) due to translational invariance. For the systems with PBC due to rotational invariance, an analogous Bloch theorem can be applied. Considering a ring-type cluster of cyclo[18]carbon as an example, we develop a quasi-band model and predict the solid state-like HHG in this system. Under the irradiation of linearly polarized laser field, cyclo[18]carbon exhibits solid-state-like HHG originated from intra-band oscillations and inter-band transitions, which in turn is promising to optically detect the symmetry and geometry of controversial structures. Our results based on the Liouville-von-Neumann equations are well reproduced by the time-dependent density functional theory calculations and are foundational in providing a connection linking the HHG physics of gases and solids.

Data set: A solid-state high harmonic generation spectrometer with cryogenic cooling

Solid-state high harmonic generation (sHHG) spectroscopy is a promising technique for studying electronic structure, symmetry, and dynamics in condensed matter systems. Here, we report on the implementation of an advanced sHHG spectrometer based on a vacuum chamber and closed-cycle helium cryostat. Using an in situ temperature probe, it is demonstrated that the sample interaction region retains cryogenic temperature during the application of high-intensity femtosecond laser pulses that generate high harmonics. The presented implementation opens the door for temperature-dependent sHHG measurements down to a few Kelvin, which makes sHHG spectroscopy a new tool for studying phases of matter that emerge at low temperatures, which is particularly interesting for highly correlated materials.

The novel approach significantly reduces imaging time while maintaining high image quality and analytical accuracy, demonstrating a reduction in imaging time by more than 95%. This method also minimizes laser-induced photodamage, lowers costs of optical components, and increases the accessibility and applicability of P-SHG imaging in various fields.

Keywords:

Polarization-Resolved Second Harmonic Generation, P-SHG, Generative Adversarial Networks, GAN, ESRGAN, Mammary Gland Imaging, Super-Resolution, Image Upscaling, Deep Learning, Biomedical Imaging

Funding Information:

    • Canada Foundation for Innovation
    • Fonds de recherche du Québec–Nature et technologies
    • Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada
    • New Frontiers Research Fund
    • NSERC CREATE program (scholarship for Arash Aghigh)

Related Identifiers:

    • GitHub repository for ChaiNNer program: https://github.com/chaiNNer-org/chaiNNer
    • Download links for models used: https://openmodeldb.info

Additional Information:

Animal studies were conducted according to the procedures provided by the Canadian Council on Animal Care.
