ALL-READY Questionnare on potential drivers and barriers to the adoption of innovation management, open science, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) among the members of the Pilot Network

Background & Summary:

The ALL-READY project unites a diverse consortium of Research Infrastructures (RI) and Living Labs, instrumental in developing new methodologies and technologies in agroecology. The project focuses on effective management of innovation, adherence to open science principles, and strategic application of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). Task 6.4 of the project, which concentrates on Innovation and IPR Management, seeks to understand the dynamics influencing the adoption of these practices among its members. Recognizing the need for end-to-end data management, the project emphasizes standardized data collection and management while adhering to FAIR principles.

Methods:

The questionnaire was developed by LifeWatch ERIC to capture data reflecting current practices and perceptions in agroecology. It included 26 questions divided into four sections, focusing on existing practices, potential drivers, and barriers in innovation management, open science, and IPR. The survey was disseminated via an online platform to the ALLREADY Pilot Network, ensuring a representative sample from diverse organizations. The data collection process was closely monitored, and the responses were analyzed using a mixed-methods approach to extract meaningful insights.

Data Records of the ALLREADY Project Questionnaire:

The dataset, collected through an online survey platform, underwent a meticulous process of data preparation, download, formatting, and anonymization. It consists of one text file containing metadata (Readme.txt) and a single CSV file encompassing all questionnaire responses. The dataset provides a comprehensive view of innovation management, open science adoption, and IPR handling within the agroecology sector, particularly among the network of RIs and Living Labs involved in the project.

Technical Validation of the ALLREADY Project Questionnaire:

Several critical steps were taken to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and overall quality of the data collected. This included development and testing of the questionnaire, rigorous monitoring of the data collection process, and thorough checks for data quality and completeness. The representativeness of the sample was analyzed specifically with respect to the Pilot Network rather than the broader population involved in agroecology. Strategies were employed to counter survey fatigue and maintain respondent engagement.

Usage Notes for the ALLREADY Project Questionnaire:

The dataset's proper usage is vital for ensuring the validity and reproducibility of research. Researchers are advised to consider the nature of the data, the representativeness of the dataset, and its generalizability. The dataset allows for comprehensive analysis and integration of different sections, and analysts have the flexibility to handle open and write-in responses according to their research needs. Additional information to facilitate analysis is provided in a separate documentation file.

Dataset for review on innovative contracts for the promotion of biodiversity and ecosystem services in agricultural management: contract design and governance characteristics

Dataset for H2020 project Contracts2.0 (GA No 818190), WP2, Task 2.1, Deliverable 2.1.

This dataset contains the information needed to reproduce the results in:
Bredemeier, Birte; Herrmann, Sylvia; Sattler, Claudia; Prager, Katrin; van Bussel, Lenny, Rex, Julia (submitted): Can the greater integration of biodiversity and ecosystem services into agricultural management be achieved through innovative contract design? Submitted to Ecosystem Services.

The Contracts2.0 project aims to develop novel contract-based approaches to incentivise farmers for the increased provision of environmental public goods alongside private goods.
Based on a literature review and integration of expert knowledge, we identified a comprehensive set of approaches to innovative contracts deviating from mainstream AECM contracts, and provide an overview of the variety of contracts currently being tested and experimented with. This includes different contract types like innovative Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES) approaches, value chain approaches and land tenure contracts, as well as their hybrids.

We analysed 62 cases providing insights into characteristics of contract design and contract governance and the wider policy framework.

The present dataset contains information on the criteria and specifications used to describe the cases studied, as well as the evaluation of each case.

This information has been compiled to the best of our knowledge based on the sources available.

For further information on the project Contracts2.0, please visit our website www.project-contracts20.eu.

Main global innovation management standards

Innovation Management Systems (IMSs) are new players that appeared in recent years in the context of innovation and must be considered. They are management standards, norms or guides —similar to Quality Management Systems, i.e., ISO 9000 family— that propose managing innovation, instead of quality, in a systematised and standardised manner [1].

In this dataset, it is possible to find a complete list of IMSs available till 2020. This list is an extended versión of the work proposed by [1], including a great number of new IMSs analysed.

[1] Mauri, M. M., & Fa, M. C. (2011). The impact of top management team tenure heterogeneity on declining firm's innovation efficiency

A firm maybe experiences a flourishing or declining period, and it also probably survives or even dies in future. Most firms have experienced decline in their development process. The impact of demand contraction and COVID-19 has caused more firms to face decline. Under the dilemma of resources reduction and recovery, the declining firm pays more and more attention to the efficient utilization of limited resources. It attempts to achieve turnaround through CEO substitution, adjustment of ownership concentration, innovation-oriented and other strategies. Based on Upper echelons theory and resource-based view, using the data of A-share listed manufacturing firms in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2015 to 2019, the impacts of TMT tenure heterogeneity and ownership concentration on the innovation efficiency were investigated. The results show that the TMT tenure heterogeneity promotes the innovation efficiency of declining firms, while the relatively centralized ownership structure negatively moderates this effect. The robustness analysis of variable replacement and the solving of endogenous problem also further support this conclusion. This study not only enriches the application areas of Upper echelons theory, but also provides practical guideline for declining firms to replace top management members and to dilute equity in order to achieve recovery.
