Raw Data for Mapping Repositories and their Institutional Open Science Policies in Asia

Persistent Identifiers (PIDs), particularly Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), are crucial for establishing a robust and globally accessible research infrastructure. In Asia, a diverse array of research outputs and resources are produced and published in repositories. However, a significant number of these repositories, and outputs remain undiscoverable in global registries and aggregators.

These three datasets provides comprehensive information on the adoption of repositories, Open Access mandates, and DOIs adoption in Asian countries. It includes detailed records from different registry sources and repository platforms.

You can read the full report titled 'Mapping Repositories and their Institutional Open Science Policies in Asia' at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.12566244

Support of Creative Commons Licenses in German disciplinary and institutional open access repositories

Which of the following open content licenses can be chosen for the metadata description of the open access full-texts (apart from the deposit license)? n=81*

* This survey question is part of the 2014 Census of Open Access Repositories in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, see: http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:kobv:11-100222687 For the research data see: http://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10734

Prototyping 3D Virtual Learning Environments with X3D-based Content and Visualization Tools-Figure 11. Online accessible repository of digital data on cultural heritage with X3D models (STARC Web Repository, 2017, © Copyright 2017, STARC, Cyprus Institute. Used with permission)

Prototyping can also include the development of toolkits for automatic content generation simulator, but in the case of an architectural environment, the components are too complex to be automatically generated. Furniture elements or the learning artifacts (i.e. content created by learners) can be converted to be viewed in X3D compatible browsers or included in online galleries (Figure 11). After functional and 3D content prototyping, certain components of the virtual campus can be easily modified and adapted as needed.

Surveys of Reporting Practices of Institutional Repositories

This dataset contains the summary results of two surveys, which gathered data about the reporting practices for institutional repositories (IR). The surveys were completed by library directors and IR managers, and questions were asked about strategic importance, content scope, and the methods and mechanisms libraries utilize to evaluate and report on IR use and impact.

Driving Traffic to Institutional Repositories: How Search Engine Optimization can Increase the Number of Downloads from IR

The success of institutional repositories (IR) is measured in large part by the number of file downloads they sustain. Most traffic to IR is referred by Internet search engines, but referrals are hindered when IR are not properly optimized for search engine harvesting and indexing, leading to low visitation and downloads. This presentation will discuss search engine optimization techniques, especially for Google Scholar, which can be responsible for the majority of referrals that result in IR file downloads. The presentation will also introduce a new web service called RAMP (Repository Analytics & Metrics Portal) that accurately counts file downloads from IR and requires no installation or training.
