McSpadden Jar
<p>In August of 2013, Caddo burial vessels were scanned using a ZScanner700CX running VXElements 2.0 via the scanner direct control function in Geomagic Design X at the McSpadden residence in College Station, Texas. The vessels were scanned for documentation purposes, and for use in forthcoming analyses of 3D geometric morphometrics.</p> <p>Many thanks to the McSpadden family for permissions and access.</p>

Sanford's Library Paste Jar
This jar was found during CAP's 2016 field season in the location of a former building called Station Terrace. Throughout its history, this building functioned as early faculty housing, a tea room, and a trolley station that came from downtown Lansing. The building was eventually physically moved, with half of the building still functioning as a house off campus. The basement and foundations were filled with debris then buried. The jar still has most of its label preserved so that "Sanford's Library Paste" is still slightly discernible with other descriptions on the sides of the label easily read (see pictures with the annotations of the labels on the model). The patent for this type of paste jar (with a separate well within the jar) dates to 1898 with it becoming an industry standard in the early 1900s. Alice Holt Jar
Everyday life in Pontes, Roman Staines – an Alice Holt food storage jar. 'Alice Holt' sounds like the Roman version of 'Clarice Cliff', but is actually a place, a wood near Farnham on the Hampshire/Surrey border. Roman potteries in the area produced enormous quantities of what is unkindly termed 'grey coarse ware'. Alice Holt jars and dishes are found extensively in the South East of England, and by the 4th century it accounts for 70% of all the pottery found at Staines. Our jar was reconstructed in the 1980s and the 'new' plaster parts crudely painted grey in an attempt to match the original. If we were doing this today the new parts would be left 'virgin' and clearly distinct from the original. Sitting on the back shelf of the 'Roman shop' in the museum, it gives a good impression of what would be sitting on shelves in most houses of the time.
