Data of the article Analysis of the self-archiving policies of journals in the highest rank category of the Finnish journal classification system within computer science, physics and electronic engineering
<p>The publication forum level three journals representing the three fields of science of computer science, computer science and electrical engineering were identified by utilizing the MinEdu field search filter while searching for the top-ranked journals from the publication channel search (https://www.tsv.fi/julkaisufoorumi/haku.php?lang=en), which is based on Field of Science, Statistics Finland classification (https://www.stat.fi/meta/luokitukset/tieteenala/001-2010/index_en.html). The data were extracted during august 2017 consists of total of 127 individual journals. It is worth noting that circa 30 journals were classified into more than one fields of sciences under scrutiny. First, the journals were divided into representing gold and hybrid model journals. Second, green open access policies of the identified hybrid journals were analyzed using Laakso’s (2014) publisher policy coding framework. Also publishers of the individual journals were identified and subsequently added to the data.</p> <p>NOTE! The data includes the shortest embargo to either institutional or subject repositories. For example, Elsevier had no embargo to opening accepted manuscripts from arXiv subject repository and thus no embargoes to Elsevier's journals are included within this datasheet.</p> <p>Data is in CSV. format</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
Dataset and R script for the analysis in the article "Food waste between environmental education, peers, and family influence. Insights from primary school students in Northern Italy", Journal of Cleaner Production
<p>We hereby publish the dataset (with metadata) and the R script (R Core team, 2018) used for implementing the analysis presented in the paper "Food waste between environmental education, peers, and family influence. Insights from primary school students in Northern Italy", <em>Journal of Cleaner Production </em>(Piras et al., 2023). The dataset is provided in csv format with semicolons as separators and "NA" for missing data. The dataset includes all the variables used in at least one of the models presented in the paper, either in the main text or in the Supplementary Material. Other variables gathered by means of the questionnaires included as Supplementary Material of the paper have been removed. The dataset includes inputted values for missing data on independent variables. These were inputted using two approaches: last observation carried forward (LOCF) - preferred when possible - and last observation carried backward (LOCB). The metadata are presented as a PDF file.</p>

Data accessibility in the chemical sciences: an analysis of recent practice in organic chemistry journals
<div> <p>Data is the analysis of the data outputs of 240 randomly selected research papers from 12 top-ranked journals published in early 2023. We investigate author compliance with recommended (but not compulsory) data policies, whether there is evidence to suggest that authors apply FAIR data guidance in their data publishing, and if the existence of specific recommendations for publishing NMR data by some journals encourages compliance. Files in the data package have been provided in both human and machine-readable forms. The main dataset is available in the Excel file Data worksheet.XLSX, the contents of which can also be found in Main_dataset.CSV, Data_types.CSV, and Article_selection.CSV with explanations of the variable coding used in the studies in Variable_names.CSV, Codes.CSV, and FAIR_variable_coding.CSV. The R code used for the article selection can be found in Article_selection.R. Data about article types from the journals that contain original research data is in Article_types.CSV. Data collected for analysis in our sister paper[4] can be found in Extended_Adherence.CSV, Extended_Crystallography.CSV, Extended_DAS.CSV, Extended_File_Types.CSV, and Extended_Submission_Process.CSV. Replication package for technical lag analysis for the JSEP journal.
<p>This is the replication package for our article "A Formal Framework for Measuring Technical Lag in Component Repositories --- and its Application to npm" submitted for the JSEP journal in 2018.</p> <p>This replication package requires Python 3.5+ to be installed, and all the dependencies listed in ``requirements.txt``.<br> They can be automatically installed using ``pip install -r requirements.txt``. <br> These experiment were executed on a Linux Ubuntu OS.</p> <p>To obtain the analysis used in the paper, one should execute ``jupyter notebook`` at the root of this replication package, and open the notebook contained in ``notebooks``.</p> <p>This replication package contains three folders (i.e scripts, notebooks and data), each folder has a README with a description of what it contains.</p> <p>The list of all npm package releases and Github repositories with their dependencies was download from the last available dataset of libraries.io: https://zenodo.org/record/1196312</p> <p>The data is under the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 4.0 license.<br> The source code is under the GNU General Public License.</p> <p><br> For any more information about the details of these experiments, please contact: <strong><a href="mailto:ahmed.zerouali73@gmail.com">ahmed.zerouali73@gmail.com</a></strong></p>

<p>Gender equality and Open Access (OA) are priorities within the European Research Area (ERA) and cross-cutting issues in European research program H2020. Gender and openness are also key elements of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). However, despite the common underlying targets of fostering an inclusive, transparent and sustainable research environment, both issues are analysed as independent, unrelated topics.<br> This paper represents a first exploration of the inter-linkages between gender and OA analysing the scientific production of researchers of the Italian National Research Council under a gender perspective integrated with the different OA publications modes. A bibliometric analysis was carried out for articles published in the period 2016-2018 and retrieved from the Web of Science. Results are presented constantly analysing CNR scientific production in relation to gender, disciplinary fields and OA publication modes. These variables are also used when analysing articles that receive financial support.<br> Our results indicate that gender disparities in scientific production still persist in particularly in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), while in medical and agricultural sciences the gender gap is the closest to parity. A positive dynamic toward OA publishing and women scientific production is shown when open disciplines with well-established practices are related to articles supported by funds. A slightly higher women propensity toward OA is shown when considering Gold OA,OA or authorships with women in the first and last article by-line position. Moreover, the prevalence of Italian funded articles with women’s contributions published in Gold OA journals seems to confirm this tendency, especially if considering the week enforcement of the Italian OA policies.</p>

An analysis of the current overlay journals
<p>Research data to accommodate the article "Overlay journals: a study of the current landscape" (https://doi.org/10.1177/09610006221125208)</p> <p>Identifying the sample of overlay journals was an explorative process (occurring during April 2021 to February 2022). The sample of investigated overlay journals were identified by using the websites of Episciences.org (2021), Scholastica (2021), Free Journal Network (2021), Open Journals (2021), PubPub (2022), and Wikipedia (2021). In total, this study identified 34 overlay journals. Please see the paper for more details about the excluded journal types.</p> <p>The journal ISSN numbers, manuscript source repositories, first overlay volumes, article volumes, publication languages, peer-review type, licence for published articles, author costs, publisher types, submission policy, and preprint availability policy were observed by inspecting journal editorial policies and submission guidelines found from journal websites. The overlay journals’ ISSN numbers were identified by examining journal websites and cross-checking this information with the Ulrich’s periodicals database (Ulrichsweb, 2021). Journals that published review reports, either with reviewers’ names or anonymously, were classified as operating with open peer-review. Publisher types defined by Laakso and Björk (2013) were used to categorise the findings concerning the publishers. If the journal website did not include publisher information, the editorial board was interpreted to publish the journal.</p> <p>The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) field of science classification was used to categorise the journals into different domains of science. The journals’ primary OECD field of sciences were defined by the authors through examining the journal websites.</p> <p>Whether the journals were indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Scopus, or Clarivate Analytics’ Web of Science Core collection’s journal master list was examined by searching the services with journal ISSN numbers and journal titles.</p> <p>The identified overlay journals were examined from the viewpoint of both qualitative and quantitative journal metrics. The qualitative metrics comprised the Nordic expert panel rankings of scientific journals, namely the Finnish Publication Forum, the Danish Bibliometric Research Indicator and the Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers. Searches were conducted from the web portals of the above services with both ISSN numbers and journal titles. Clarivate Analytics’ Journal Citation Reports database was searched with the use of both ISSN numbers and journal titles to identify whether the journals had a Journal Citation Indicator (JCI), Two-Year Impact Factor (IF) and an Impact Factor ranking (IF rank). The examined Journal Impact Factors and Impact Factor rankings were for the year 2020 (as released in 2021).</p>

<p>As shown in Figure 2, it was found that there was a statistically significant interaction in the<br> percentage of mental fatigue between the condition type and time-on-task factor times (F(6, 22) =<br> 492.19, p < 0.001) as well as there was a significant main effect of time-on-task (time5 to time30)<br> (F(5, 22) = 463.794, p < 0.001). In addition, there was also a significant main effect in the condition type (F (1, 22) = 713.133, p < 0.001) which represented a large effect size. For the physical fatigue<br> subjective measure, there was a significant difference between the two experimental conditions (p <<br> 0.001), and within the subject test times (p < 0.001). However, there was no significant difference<br> between the means of the concentration visual analogue scale for these two experimental conditions<br> (p = 0.057) despite a significant difference (p < 0.001) in the time-on-task repeated measures.</p>

<p>Figure 3 is presenting the sentiment analysis results from the point of view of the themes extracted from the corpus. The same preoccupation for the cost of the course is revealed, but this time the fact that MOOCs are free is appreciated. Students perceive that an integration of MOOCs into blended courses leads to a rapid information of the topics, such a feature receiving a high positive score of +3.46. The detailed explanations in this blended approach received a positive impact from the students with a total score of +2.70, but also the gained knowledge is among the most highly rated corpus themes. </p>

<p> In order to validate our results, the next step was to extract the sentiment analysis from Tweeter’s tweets (Figure 2) which are based on blending embedded systems-related courses. The obtained polarity is positive, so this results shows not only that students appreciated this in a positive manner, but also that the proposed technique for integrating MOOCs into embedded systems courses is a viable one. </p>
