<p>This deposit contains the data output of the systems described in&nbsp;<a href="https://hal.science/hal-04230941">On the Moreau&ndash;Jean scheme with the Fr&eacute;mond impact law. Energy conservation and dissipation properties for elastodynamics with contact impact and friction.</a> The codes that generated this data are available in another <a href="../records/10953181">deposit</a> archived on Zenodo, as well as in a GitHub repository archived on <a href="https://archive.softwareheritage.org/swh:1:dir:33ff6d960b70505c7939c0ce21c039cabbe1351c;origin=https://github.com/nickcollins-craft/On-the-Moreau-Jean-scheme-with-the-Fremond-impact-law;visit=swh:1:snp:72aede3d3a464732a36ef79c20ef07eebd1f9918;anchor=swh:1:rev:b63b68c25e72d23d7d9ee30225165fa0ebffb3c2">Software Heritage</a>, which is the preferred method of obtaining the codes. <p>This dataset contains the experimental data described in Lazarus, ED (2016) Scaling laws for coastal overwash morphology, <em>Geophysical Research Letters</em>, 43, 12113&ndash;12119,&nbsp;<a href="https://doi.org/10.1002/2016GL071213">https://doi.org/10.1002/2016GL071213</a>.</p> <p>The physical experiments that produced these data were conducted at St Anthony Falls Laboratory (University of Minnesota, USA)&nbsp;in December 2014. The experiments were conducted in a 3 x 5 x 0.6 m tank filled with well-sorted coarse river sand. Federalism Conflicts on the Constitutionality of Laws in Mexico (01.01.1995-21.06.2021)

<p>This dataset Federalism Conflicts on the Constitutionality of Laws in Mexico during a selected period. The dataset covers judgments issued on "constitutional controversies," a procedure through which the Mexican Supreme Court resolves federalism conflicts. The dataset provides information pertaining to cases filed and resolved, including the plaintiff, the defendant, and the type of normative provision challenged. It also provides an overview of the outcomes of all normative provisions challenged (upheld, invalidated, dismissed out of procedural grounds, or dismissed out of the lack of a supermajority vote to invalidate them). Data was downloaded on June 22, 2022, and manually classified in the following months. The dataset may be employed to calculate unconstitutionality rates or to study the impact of supermajority rules on the role of constitutional courts as arbiters of federalism conflicts. Full text for all judgments is provided.</p>

Empirical laws of plasmapause and plasmasphere outer edge location from the Van Allen Probes

<p>This webpage provides access to empirical laws of the plasmapause position and the dense outer edge of the plasasphere position (i.e. location of the 100 #/cc electron density) established from spacecraft charging of the Van Allen Probes (RBSP), using data from Probe B from 26 September 2012 to 16 July 2019. These empirical laws are published of the following article:</p> <p>Ripoll, J.-F., Thaller, S. A., Hartley, D. P., Cunningham, G. S., Pierrard, V., Kurth, W. S., et al. (2022). Statistics and empirical models of the plasmasphere boundaries from the Van Allen Probes for radiation belt physics. Geophysical Research Letters, 49, e2022GL101402. https://doi.org/10.1029/2022GL101402.</p> <p>Please refer to the article and this link if you make any use of the data.</p> <p>We first deliver 3 files which contain&nbsp;the plasmapause position versus a given geomagnetic index, either Kp, AE, or Dst. These data files are MLT-averaged. The filename is Lpp_v_XX_stats_1.txt with XX the index name.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>We then deliver&nbsp;3 files which contains the plasmapause position versus a geomagnetic starred index (i.e. a max taken during the last 24 hours for Kp and AE and a min for Dst), either Kp*, AE*, or Dst* for 4 MLT sectors written successively in each file and then for all sectors averaged together. These data files&nbsp;are MLT-dependent for the 4 first blocks and then MLT-averaged in the fifth block. The filename is&nbsp;Lpp_v_XX_star_MLT_stats_2-1.txt with XX the starred index name.&nbsp;</p> <p>The MLT range is given in the last two columns. When the plasmapause location is undetermined (i.e.&nbsp;Lpp = 0 or no value), there is no MLT, so that in the file&nbsp;we just have the total number of points (all real) and not the three values of total, number of real, number of Nans.</p> <p>Similarly, we deliver&nbsp;3 files which contains the plasmapause position versus a geomagnetic non starred index,&nbsp;either Kp, AE, or Dst&nbsp;for 4 MLT sectors written successively in each file. Filenames have the form &quot;Lpp_v_XX_MLT_stats_1.txt&quot; with XX the name of the&nbsp;index. Figures associated to this data were&nbsp;not given in the article and have been added here with a filename of the form&nbsp;Lpp_by_mlt_XX.pdf with XX the name of the&nbsp;index.</p> <p>Finally, the zip file &quot;RBSP-A Figures and Laws&quot;&nbsp;contains Figures (same format as each figure of Figure 4 in the article) and empirical laws (same format as above) for RBSP-A data&nbsp;(10/2012-04/2016). Being more limited in time, we rather recommend to use RBSP B data. They are provided to confirm both RBSP A and B data agree when statistics are converged.</p>

Law Indexes: New York (Local Laws)

<p>Under <a href="https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/laws/CNS/A9">Article IX (Local Governments) of the Constitution of the State of New York</a>, adopted in 1963, local governments in the State of New York have the power to adopt local laws. To effectuate the article, the Legislature enacted the <a href="https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/laws/MHR/">Municipal Home Rule Law</a> (<a href="https://hdl.handle.net/2027/uc1.a0001834712?urlappend=%3Bseq=893%3Bownerid=113368669-899">1963 N.Y. Laws 2697, Ch. 843</a>), which outlines the process that local governments must follow to adopt local laws. <a href="https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/laws/MHR/27">Section 27 of the Law</a> requires local governments to file local laws with the Secretary of State before they can become effective.</p> <p>This data set contains index records for over 130,000 local laws filed with the Secretary of State, mostly between 1969 and 2003. Pursuant to Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) Request No. DOS-22-02-052, a copy of the index database, created using DataPerfect, was released by the State on March 17, 2022. These records were requested in an effort to expand the geographic scope and detail of information in the Local Geohistory Project, which aims to educate users and disseminate information concerning the geographic history and structure of political subdivisions and local government.</p> <p>This data set complements local law volumes published with session laws through 1973, along with printed indexes covering the years 1974 through 1982. Original local law filings for this time period have been accessioned by the New York State Archives as part of <a href="https://iarchives.nysed.gov/xtf/view?docId=ead/findingaids/13241.xml;query=">Series Number 13241</a>.</p>

Law Indexes: Virginia

<p>As part of efforts to expand the Local Geohistory Project, which aims to educate users and disseminate information concerning the geographic history and structure of political subdivisions and local government, this repository has been created to disseminate law index data for the Commonwealth of Virginia.</p> <p>This index currently covers enrolled bills from 1776 through 1910. Prior to the 20th century, private and special laws were often the primary method used to alter municipal and county boundaries and forms of government in Virginia. The law index is released as a tab-separated values (TSV) file, <strong>output/VaLawIndex.tsv</strong>.</p> <p>Note that the Citation Page references are not to the published session laws, but to the Enrolled bills of the General Assembly collection at the <a href="https://lva.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01LVA_INST/altrmk/alma990004934790205756">Library of Virginia</a>.</p> <p>This repository does not contain the full text of the laws, nor does it currently contain links to the full text. This index currently covers private and special laws only from 1789 through 1943.</p> <p>Private and special laws concern one or several individuals, entities, or localities, unlike public or general laws, which apply to all similarly situated individuals, entities, and localities within a jurisdiction. Throughout New England, private and special laws were often the primary method used to alter municipal and county boundaries and forms of government.</p> <p>The law index is released as a tab-separated values (TSV) file, <strong>output/ConnLawIndex.tsv</strong>. The Detail column may contain additional Prefix information that is repeated from prior entries.</p> <p>This repository does not contain the full text of the laws, nor does it currently contain links to the full text. Data from: The interaction of ice and law in Arctic marine accessibility

<p>Sea ice levies an impost on maritime navigability in the Arctic. But ice cover diminution due to anthropogenic climate change is generating expectations for improved accessibility in coming decades. Projections of sea ice cover retreating preferentially from the eastern Arctic suggest key provisions of international law of the sea will require revision. Specifically, protections against marine pollution in ice covered seas enshrined in Article 234 of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea have been used in recent decades to extend jurisdictional competence over the Northern Sea Route only loosely associated with environmental outcomes. Projections show that plausible open water routes through international waters may be accessible by mid-century under all but the most aggressive of emissions control scenarios. While inter- and intra-annual variability places the economic viability of these routes in question for some time, the inevitability of a seasonally ice-free Arctic will be attended by a reduction of regulatory friction and a recalibration of associated legal frameworks.</p>
