Data from: Dating and morpho-stratigraphy of uplifted marine terraces in the Makran subduction zone (Iran)
<p>This data comes from the study of marine terraces from the Iranian Makran. This second version contains .zip compressed files instead of .rar .<br> A_files are seven terrace maps of the region of Jask, Tang, Gurdim, Konarak, Chabahar-Ramin, Lipar and Pasabander.<br> B_file are results of Radiocarbon and 230Th/U dating of mollusk shells from the marine deposits above the terraces.<br> C_file are results of Optically Stimulated Luminescence dating (OSL) of said deposits.<br> D_files are field pictures.<br> The data is published in support for the paper mentioned in the title (submitted to Earth Surface Dynamics).</p> <p>Brief description:<br> Terrace maps are accompanied with a datamodel excel file explaining the different GIS layers.<br> The maps are provided in both .KMZ files (for Google Earth) and Shapefiles</p> <p>Radiometric (i.e. both Radiocarbon and 230Th/U) analytical details are provided, together with XRD analysis of the Aragonitic shells and some SEM pictures of both Aragonitic and Calcitic shells. Method details are in the paper.</p> <p>OSL results are provided with the analytical details, such as: Environmental dose parameters, OSL raw measurements (out of the machine), OSL Histograms, Dose-Recovery tests and Fading test results. Data from: Geomorphological signatures of known hurricanes and validation of theoretical emplacement formulations: coastal boulder deposits on Cuban low-lying marine terraces
<p>Here we show the models made from SfM photogrammetry for 5 boulders found on the Cuban island emplaced by three hurricanes on the low marine terrace. To generate a 3D-scaled SfM point cloud of each studied boulder, we adapted an easy SfM workflow using Agisoft Metashape software (version 1.7.2). We surveyed each CBD obtaining pictures between 0.5 m - 3 m distance from the boulder and also climbing on the boulder to maximise the diversity of picture angles. The survey was carried over a time lapse of ~30 minutes and under cloudy conditions to avoid shadows created by direct sunlight. For scaling SfM results and assessing the quality of measurements, we used six wooden balls as photogrammetric targets. The diameter of the balls is 30 ± 0.2 x 10-3 m, as verified by repeated caliper measurements. We complemented these targets with two 70 x 10 cm wooden scales. All these targets were used as reference scale bars to correct the spherical distortion inherent to the camera optics and perform an auto-calibration. We further used these targets to check possible distortion after post processing and the generation of the resulting 3D model. In order to create a point cloud and a solid volume, we followed the software workflow: we first aligned the images to identify tiepoints, which were then used in bundle adjustment to compute the 3D dense clouds in a second step.</p>

Marine terraces of the last interglacial period along the Pacific coast of South America (1°N-40°S)
<p>This database comprises ~2,000 measurements of last interglacial marine terrace elevations along ~5,000 km of the western South American coast from northern Ecuador to south-central Chile (1°N-40°S). We used quantitatively replicable approaches constrained by previously published terrace-age estimates. Uncertainties were estimated on the basis of measurement errors and the distance from these referencing points.</p>
