Evaluating a poroelastic model via pore pressure signals in seafloor sediments [data set]

The csv files consist of pressure data collected off the coast of Camp Pendleton between 10 February 2021 and 25 February 2021, and include both pore pressure data from two instrumented surrogates and pressure data from a Nortek Signature. Timestamps are in posix time; pressure is in kPa. The time series for Surrogate A are prefixed "surrA"; those for Surrogate B are prefixed "surrB". The Nortek Signature time series is prefixed "Sig1000".

Equivalent Biot and Skempton poroelastic coefficients for a fractured rock mass from a DFN approach

These files allow the estimation of equivalent Biot and Skempton coefficients for a fractured rock mass.

The folder is organized into:

validation: this folder contains the files used for the comparison of theoretical expressions with numerical results. In detail, it contains input scripts and results of the numerical HM simulation in 3DEC, input scripts and results for the DFN generation and analytical estimation of the coefficients, scripts for the comparison of numerical and theoretical estimations

sensitivity: this folder contains the files used for the sensitivity analysis. In particular, it contains scripts for the direct estimation of coefficients and for the estimations from the generated DFNs, for the case of parallel fractures and for randomly oriented fractures.

Stress-induced anisotropic poroelasticity in Westerly granite: Mechanical and Ultrasonic data

Data obtained from triaxial loading experiments conducted on thermally cracked Westerly granite which was initially dry and later saturated with water.

Text files (.txt) are raw, unprocessed time series of mechanical data including load, shortening and radial and axial strain gauge measurements. Except noted, units are in Volts. Strain gauge voltages can be converted into strain using gauge factor of 2.11 and amplification factor of 40. External shortening can be converted to sample shortening using a machine stiffness of 480 kN/mm.

Raw ultrasonic data are combined in folder named BSF*. Data format is binary, and can be read using ASC ltd. software "Insite".

Files "sensors.txt" contain ultrasonic sensor positions and time offset corrections.

Mechanical and Ultrasonic data are provided for when the sample was dry. Only mechanical data are provided for saturated conditions.
