Implementation of guidelines on prevention of coercion and violence (PreVCo) in psychiatry

Fifty-four psychiatric wards in Germany treating voluntary and involuntary patients were randomly allocated to either an intervention or to a waiting list condition. The intervention consisted of the implementation of three out of 12 suggested recommendations as selected by the ward teams, supported by external study workers. As the primary outcome measure, the number of coercive measures used per bed and month in the final 3 months of the intervention period was determined. Secondary outcomes were the cumulative duration of coercive measures used per bed and months and assaults per bed and month. Achieved guideline adherence was measured by a fidelity scale developed for this purpose during a pilot study for the PreVCo Rating Tool. After a 3-month baseline collection period under routine conditions, randomisation was done after matching wards pairwise according to frequency of coercive measures used and scores on the PreVCo Rating Tool at baseline.

Current Opinion in Psychiatry - Air pollution and Neurodevelopment Paper Method and Dataset

The dataset for this research was compiled through an advanced PubMed search targeting publications from a one-year period. Keywords focused on air pollution, neurodevelopment, and associated disorders. From an initial pool of 5,000 publications, filtering based on co-occurrence of relevant keywords reduced this to approximately 80 papers. VOSviewer was employed to analyze co-occurrences and generate a visual map of relationships between air pollution and child neurodevelopment. The thesaurus was applied to standardize terminology, refining the final network for detailed analysis of keyword clusters and their interactions.

IMaging-PsychiAtry Challenge rfMRI data

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a severe psychiatric disorder that affects 1 in 166 children.

There is evidence that ASD is reflected in individuals brain networks and anatomy. Yet, it remains unclear how systematic these effects are, and how large is their predictive remain unclear. The large cohort assembled here can bring some anwsers. Predicting autism from brain imaging will provide biomarkers and shed some light on the mechanisms of the pathology.

https://github.com/ramp-kits/autism

Online Tables for the thesis "Clustering approaches for patient stratification in psychiatry" by Jonas Hagenberg

This repository contains the online tables that accompany my thesis "Clustering approaches for patient stratification in psychiatry".

In the following, I list the description of all tables:

1: Information about somatic diseases and medication separated by status (participants labeled as cases and used in the clustering as well as controls without a DSM-IV diagnosis). N data denotes the number of individuals who had the information available. The medication information was not available for the OPTIMA cohort. N denotes the individuals who were affected by the disease or took the medication.

2: Missingness and coefficient of variation information of the immune marker data for 237 participants used in the clustering and 36 controls without a DSM-IV diagnosis. The coefficient of variation was calculated from three internal controls that were run in duplicates.

3: Variable importance of all variables the initial clustering. The variable importance is calculated as the F-value from an ANOVA model with the clusters as independent variables. The variable importance cannot be interpreted as a p-value as the variables were already used in the clustering, thereby inflating the p-values. Full version of supplementary table 3.

4: Variable importance of all gene sets in the initial clustering. Full version of supplementary table 8.

5: Variable importance of all variables the secondary analysis corrected for age, sex and BMI. The analysis was performed with DESeq2 and the model contained CRP, IL-6 and BMI. Matching Registered Nurse Services With Changing Care Demands in Psychiatric Hospitals: A Multicenter Observational Study (MatchRN Psychiatry Study). Data from the Nurse Survey

MatchRN Psychiatry is a multicenter observational study of Swiss psychiatric hospitals. This study's purpose is to describe health care quality by exploring hospital structures such as nurse staffing and the work environment; processes such as the rationing of care; nurse outcomes, including job satisfaction and work-life balance. The sample for this study included approximately 1200 nurses from 115 units of 13 psychiatric hospitals in Switzerland's German-speaking region. The nurse survey covered three dimensions: work environment, patient safety climate, and the rationing of care. Data were collected between September 2019 and June 2021. The MatchRN Psychiatry study is funded by the participating psychiatric hospitals and the Swiss Psychiatric Nursing Leaders Association (Vereinigung Pflegekader Psychiatrie Schweiz).
