Public Attitudes Towards the European Space Agency
<p>The data inherent in this dataset were collected between 11 February 2020 to 1 March 2020 as part of a public survey of German residents. The survey looked into attitudes and (hypothetical) behaviours related to the European Space Agency and European space activities. Convenience sampling and snowball sampling were employed over email, messengers and social media.</p> <p>This is a multiple imputation dataset, including an imputation variable, a weighting variable, as well as composite variables where applicable.</p> <p>Additional files include a generic codebook for the dataset and a print version of the online survey for a rough overview of the survey design. The survey content in the latter is in German.</p>

<p>This folder contains the data and R scripts needed to replicate the analysis of the publication entitled "<span>Emotional states elicited by wolf videos are diverse and explain general attitudes towards wolves". <span>This dataset represents a social survey in rural populations of 24 randomly selected cities in France (n=795) to (i) quantify emotional diversity and (ii)<span> test the relationship between emotional states and attitudes towards wolves, accounting for individual and regional factors. <span>All </span>data were collected between November 2018 and May 2019. </span></span></span></p>
A Repeated Measures Dataset on Public Responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic: Social Norms, Attitudes, Behaviors, Conspiracy Thinking, and (Mis)Information
<p>We present a quantitative repeated measures dataset from intensive longitudinal research (diary survey) conducted with participants drawn from a nationally representative sample of the German population. This diary survey addresses a wide range of variables relevant to the COVID-19 pandemic, including information seeking, attitudes towards science, public health, and related behaviors. Respondents were asked about their thoughts, challenges, concerns, and experiences related to the pandemic. Survey responses were requested every two weeks from November 2020 and September 2021 for a total of 18 stages of data collection. The diary survey responses were all matched to the same individual. Using the unique identifier for each individual, the diary survey dataset can be analyzed in concert with a larger representative survey sample that was conducted three times within the same research project over this time period. The diary dataset we present here includes socio-demographic information and other potentially relevant variables, ready for secondary analysis.<br> <br> Initial sample frame: <em>N </em>= 1,480</p> <p>Initial diary survey sub-sample: <em>N </em>= 133</p>

Public attitudes to a human challenge study with SARS-CoV-2: a mixed-methods study
<p>Human challenge studies involve the deliberate exposure of healthy volunteers to an infectious micro-organism in a highly controlled and monitored way. They are used to understand infectious diseases and have contributed to the development of vaccines. In early 2020, the UK started exploring the feasibility of establishing a human challenge study with SARS-CoV-2. Given the significant public interest and the complexity of the potential risks and benefits, it is vital that public views are considered in the design and approval of any such study and that investigators and ethics boards remain accountable to the public.</p> <p>We conducted a mixed methods study comprising online surveys conducted with 2,441 UK adults and in-depth virtual focus groups with 57 UK adults during October 2020 to explore the public’s attitudes to a human challenge study with SARS-CoV-2 taking place in the UK.</p> <p>This depositary includes:</p> <ul> <li>Documentation relating to the online surveys; <ul> <li>Survey</li> <li>Animation that survey participants were asked to view</li> <li>Survey wrappers (invitations, participant information sheet and consent, end of survey messages)</li> <li>Survey data (demographic information not included)</li> </ul> </li> <li>Documentation relating to focus groups: <ul> <li>Participant Information Sheet</li> <li>Focus Group Discussion guide</li> </ul> </li> </ul>
