<p>The files contain the raw data of the atmospheric and concentration profiles respectively used and calculated by the LES and LSM simulations presented in Devenish and Cerminara (2020).</p> <p>The concentration data have been stored in two ASCII columns, the first being the elevation with respect to the vent level, and the second the concentration normalised by the initial concentration, where the initial concentration is the product of the source mass flux and the exit velocity.</p> <p>For the two cases of the intercomparison study, the initial mass flux is 1.5e6 kg/s and 1.5e9 kg/s for the weak and strong cases, respectively. The respective exit velocities are 135 m/s and 275 m/s.</p> <p>For the twenty cases with ambient wind, the initial mass flux and exit velocities can be extracted from the information given in the paper.</p> <p>Additional information can be found in Costa et al. The temperate coral <em>Cladocora caespitosa</em> is the only zooxanthellate coral with reef-building capacity in the Mediterranean Sea, a climate change hotspot with warming rates triple the global average. Over the past two decades, <em>C. caespitosa</em> populations have suffered severe mortality events associated with marine heatwaves (MHWs). However, with monitoring efforts beginning, at best, in the 2000s, the occurrence of MHWs before to that period, as well as the sub-lethal effects of these events remain poorly understood. Here we use sclerochronology to reconstruct the histories of past stress events and long-term sub-lethal effects on <em>C. caespitosa</em> in three locations within the NW Mediterranean Sea, each with different environmental conditions. Skeletal extension, density and calcification rates were compared to the <em>in situ</em> seawater temperature of each site to assess their relationship. Additionally, we assessed the occurrence of skeletal growth anomalies to reconstruct stress events between 1991 and 2021, a period that encompasses the onset and evolution of warming-related mass mortality events in the NW Mediterranean Sea. Our results reveal a positive association between calcification and temperature, following a latitudinal temperature gradient. However, the evolution of the likelihood distribution of growth rates in the warmest site (Columbretes Islands) since the 1990s indicates a decrease in linear extension and calcification rates during the most recent years. With the increase in the frequency of MHWs and growth anomalies during the last decade, this decline suggests a recurrence in physiological stress events. <p>Gender equality and Open Access (OA) are priorities within the European Research Area (ERA) and cross-cutting issues in European research program H2020. Gender and openness are also key elements of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). However, despite the common underlying targets of fostering an inclusive, transparent and sustainable research environment, both issues are analysed as independent, unrelated topics.<br> This paper represents a first exploration of the inter-linkages between gender and OA analysing the scientific production of researchers of the Italian National Research Council under a gender perspective integrated with the different OA publications modes. A bibliometric analysis was carried out for articles published in the period 2016-2018 and retrieved from the Web of Science. Results are presented constantly analysing CNR scientific production in relation to gender, disciplinary fields and OA publication modes. These variables are also used when analysing articles that receive financial support.<br> Our results indicate that gender disparities in scientific production still persist in particularly in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), while in medical and agricultural sciences the gender gap is the closest to parity. A positive dynamic toward OA publishing and women scientific production is shown when open disciplines with well-established practices are related to articles supported by funds. A slightly higher women propensity toward OA is shown when considering Gold OA,OA or authorships with women in the first and last article by-line position. Moreover, the prevalence of Italian funded articles with women’s contributions published in Gold OA journals seems to confirm this tendency, especially if considering the week enforcement of the Italian OA policies.</p>

<p>The fourth stage was the use of social media to build a social learning network based on content and experience sharing and creation. The following web 2.0 services were used as a distributed platform able to support our experimental learning system: a) Panoramio (http://www.panoramio.com/user/7606828) (Figure 6) as a geo-referenced photo-sharing service over Google Maps and Google Earth for sharing project’s essential results; b) Twitter (https://twitter.com/maps_of_time) (Figure 7), as a social network and micro-blogging service for short announcements and comments; c) Google+ (https://plus.google.com/114705936110835992130?hl=en#114705936110835992130/posts?hl=en) (Figure 8), as a platform for sharing and tagging multiple content (photo, video), blogging and video chatting service with the recent Google Hangout, for sharing educational content; d) Google Drive (Levin, 2013) for cloud storage and collaborative document editing. We also created a YouTube channel for public distribution of video content (https://www.youtube.com/TimemapsNet), (Rusu et al., 2013) and a Facebook page of Vădastra School (https://www.facebook.com/scoalaVădastra). </p>
