Table S3. List of Locustella sound recordings included in bioacoustic analysis surrounding description of the Taliabu Grasshopper-Warbler. The table provides information on sound library sources and sampling localities of recordings as well as raw data on all 11 bioacoustic parameters measured (see Supplementary Materials section SM3 for more details on parameters). Recordings whose source is labeled as "private recording" were obtained by colleagues and are available upon demand from the corresponding author.

"I made the recording because Iam an amateur recording engineer and also work for a radio station. At the time, Iwas researching for a religious programme, for the radio and by pure chance and good luck, Iwas in the centre of York at the time the street preacher was there. Iam building up a personal library of 'ambient sounds' to use on various radio shows as 'sound effects'. The recording was taken outside St Helen's Church in St Helen's Square, in the centre of York. There was a fairly large crowd walking about, shopping. It was a Saturday. Some people were standing and listening to the man, some were mocking him, others didn't even notice. It was a sunny day, with a slight wind. St Helen's square is a large 'meeting place' for people with seats, flowers and usually musicians. I live in the centre of York and hear a lot of very interesting sounds there, everything from busking musicians, to many foreign languages, church bells, animals and much more. Ireally liked the recording of the preacher as it is quite clear that he passionately believes what he is saying. He was unaware that Iwas recording him. Iwish Ihad captured his whole sermon. Compilation of existing underwater PAM repositories, libraries, and applications for sound processing
<p>Resources for passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) are continuously expanding and being developed, yet a major challenge for users is staying up-to-date and finding the best software or application for their acoustics investigation. We expand on previous efforts (Rhinehart & Nicholson, 2022; Felgate, 2023) with the aim of providing a current, comprehensive list of 1) underwater sound repositories of raw sound data without significant processing, 2) biological sound reference libraries, with species or taxa identification, and 3) sound processing tools for visualization, annotation, or analysis. This spreadsheet contains three pages, one dedicated to each of the aforementioned items, along with some descriptive information to help users identify the best resources for their needs.</p> <p>This work was done to support the Global Library of Underwater Biological Sounds (GLUBS) project and funded in part by the Richard Lounsbery Foundation and from funding to SCOR WG #169 (GLUBS) provided by national committees of the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) and from a grant to SCOR from the US National Science Foundation (OCE--2140395), with support from the International Quiet Ocean Experiment.</p> <p> </p>
Manual acoustic signal annotation for species from sound libraries Jacques Vielliard Neotropical Sound Library
<h3>Description</h3> <p>We present a multispecies dataset of active acoustic recordings of anuran amphibians deposited in the Jacques Vielliard Neotropical Sound Library from the original AnuraSet localities. Some audio files were donated by professional acousticians, due to the small sample size of some species. The dataset consists of 270 audio files with a total of 305,211 minutes of annotated acoustic activity from 12 prioritised species. </p> <p>The annotation quality was classified as ‘Clear’ by 46%, ‘Medium’ by 43% and ‘Far’ by 7%.
