Light Curve and Target Data for "M-Dwarf Flare Candidates Simultaneously Observed by K2 and TESS"

<p>This repository contains light curves and data from the study conducted in the research note titled "M-Dwarf Flare Candidates Simultaneously Observed by K2 and TESS".</p> <p>Each file contains a light curve (produced outputs from PyVAN (<a href="https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2019AJ....158..119L/abstract" rel="nofollow">https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2019AJ....158..119L/abstract</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://github.com/kdlawson/pyvan">https://github.com/kdlawson/pyvan</a>), modfied to easily distinguish between K2/TESS data) for each target flagged with a flaring event. Files titled #T indicate TESS data and #K indicates K2 data.&nbsp;</p> <p>Overlap plots are included (titled Shape#) for those which were clearly defined by TESS, but not seen by K2.</p> <p>See Table 1 for specific target identification and measurements.</p> <p>Targets 11, 20, 27, and 28 saw K2 detections that we believe to be false positives based on lack of structure and substanstial supporting evidence from TESS.</p> <p>Finally a .csv is included with the information for all targets observed in this study.</p>

PENELLOPE - UVES spectra of targets in the Lupus and Chamaeleon regions observed in 2021

<p>Spectra of the targets in the Chamaeleon I and Lupus&nbsp;regions observed with the VLT/UVES spectrograph in June-July 2021. These spectra are part of the PENELLOPE Large Program and are&nbsp;obtained close in time to the HST/ULLYSES spectra of the same targets.&nbsp;</p> <p>Here one can find the 1D flux-calibrated and telluric corrected spectra. Each object is observed simultaneously in three arms, blue, redu, redl, and the spectrum of each arm is saved in one file. The units of the spectra are: Flux [10**-16 erg/s/cm2/AA]; Wavelength [AA].&nbsp; Each object is typically observed&nbsp;3 times, the spectra are thus labelled as ep1, ep2, ep3.</p> <p>Data are public, we ask to ask to the authors of this release, who contributed to the observation preparation and data reduction, whether they want to be included in any publication using these data. The data reduction procedure&nbsp;is presented in Manara et al. (2021). Please quote this paper in any related publication. Please contact Carlo Manara for estimates of the stellar and accretion properties of these targets based on the corresponding X-Shooter data, and Antonio Frasca for stellar properties based on this data.&nbsp;</p> <p>For questions or comments please contact Carlo Manara, cmanara@eso.org</p>

Targeted lipidomics yields changes in both arachidonic acid and linoleic acid pathways observed in C57BL/6J mice compared to KitW-sh mice after nitrogen mustard exposure

<p>Sulfur mustard (SM) has been widely used as a chemical warfare agent including most recently in Syria. Mice exposed to SM exhibit an increase in pro-inflammatory cytokines followed by immune cell infiltration in the lung, however, the mechanisms leading to these inflammatory responses has not been completely elucidated. Mast cells are one of the first responding innate immune cells found at the mucosal surfaces of the lung and have been reported to be activated by SM in the skin. Therefore, we hypothesized that nitrogen mustard (NM: a surrogate for SM) exposure promotes activation of mast cells causing chronic respiratory inflammation. To assess the role of mast cells in NM-mediated pulmonary toxicity, we compared the effects of NM exposure between C57BL/6 and B6.Cg-KitW-sh/HNihrJaeBsmJ (Kit<em>W-s</em>h; mast cell deficient) mice. Lung injury was observed in C57BL/6J mice following NM exposure (0.125 mg/kg) at 72 h, which was significantly abrogated in Kit<em>W-s</em>h mice. Although both strains exhibited damage from NM, C57BL/6J mice had higher inflammatory cell infiltration and more elevated prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) present in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid compared with Kit<em>W-s</em>h mice. Additionally, we utilized murine bone marrow-derived mast cells to assess NM-inducedearly and late activation. Although NM exposure did not result in mast cell degranulation, we observed an upregulation in PGD2 and IL-6 levels following exposure to NM. Results suggest that mast cells play a prominent role in lung injury induced by NM and may contribute to the acute and potentially long-term lung injury observed caused by SM.</p>
