Data from: Reproducibility of the Quantification of Reversible Wall Interactions in VOC Sampling Lines

<p>Dataset from the following publication (<a href="https://doi.org/10.3390/atmos12020280">https://doi.org/10.3390/atmos12020280</a>). In the paper, a method to&nbsp;quantify the amount of substance segregated by reversible interactions on sampling lines is proposed. The areic amount of a VOC (Acetone) interacting with the pipe is measured for a commercial test pipe (Sulfinert&reg;) as the amount of substance per unit area of the internal surface of the test pipe segregated from the flowing gas mixture. The areic amount is function of numerical integrals estimated under different conditions and reproducibility is evaluated. The data used to estimate the integrals described in this work is organised in folders. Each folder correspond to a sample. Sample information is available on Table 3 of the paper.</p>

ΔvapHm-VOC: Standard Molar Vaporization Enthalpy Database for Machine Learning Prediction Models

<p>We present the full database of the article "Data-Driven, Explainable Machine Learning Model for Predicting Volatile Organic Compounds&rsquo; Standard Vaporization Enthalpy".</p> <p>This is the database used for data driven, explainable supervised ML model to predict &Delta;vap<em>H</em>m&deg; of VOCs. The model was built on an established experimental database of 2410 unique molecules and 223 VOCs categorized by chemical groups. Using supervised ML regression algorithms, the Random Forest successfully predicted VOCs&rsquo; &Delta;vap<em>H</em>m&deg; with a mean absolute error of 3.02 kJ mol-1 and a 94% test score. The model was successfully validated through the prediction of &Delta;vap<em>H</em>m&deg; for a known database of VOCs and through molecular group hold-out tests.</p> <div> <div> <div> <div> <p>The model's database was built with a variety of molecules from diverse chemical families with known experimental &Delta;vap<em>H</em>m&deg; values. Entries were collected from <a href="https://doi.org/10.1063/1.3309507" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Acree and Chickos&rsquo; 2010 compilation</a>, curated by <a href="https://doi.org/10.1016/j.fluid.2013.09.021" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gharagheizi (2013)</a>, with experimental vaporization enthalpy at the standard temperature of 298.15 K. This database was selected as it is an open-access repository, generally presenting experimental values with low uncertainties and corrected for the real-to-ideal behavior of the gas phase. We introduced a routine to convert and present each chemical entry into a SMILES string, along with chemical family categorization. For VOCs, we built a specific database of compounds documented in a VOC regulatory environmental guideline (<a href="https://www.s-t-a.org/Files%20Public%20Area/Documents/The%20Categorisation%20of%20Volatile%20Organic%20Compounds%20HMIP%20(1996).pdf">Marlowe <em>et al</em>., 1995</a>), and we used our web-scrapping routine to gather experimental &Delta;vap<em>H</em>m&deg; values. The external dataset for validation studies was also collected from <a href="https://doi.org/10.1016/j.fluid.2013.09.021" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gharagheizi (2013)</a>.</p> <p>Along with &Delta;vap<em>H</em>m&deg; experimental values, each molecule is represented by its CAS number, SMILES string and InChlKey. We generated 106 chemical descriptors for every molecule in the database, using <a href="http://http//www.rdkit.org/">RDKit</a> software version 2022.09.4, running on top of Python 3.9. Descriptors were calculated from the &ldquo;MolFromSmiles&rdquo; function in &ldquo;RDKIT.Chem&rdquo; as descriptors with non-numerical values were removed. The descriptors encode significant chemical information and are used to present physicochemical characteristics of compounds, building a relationship between structure and &Delta;vap<em>H</em>m&deg;.</p> </div> </div> </div> </div> <p>Through chemical feature importance analysis, the explainable model revealed that VOC polarizability, connectivity indexes and electrotopological state are key for the model&rsquo;s prediction accuracy. We thus present a replicable and explainable model, which can be further expanded towards the prediction of other thermodynamic properties of VOCs.</p>

Fire INventory from NCAR (FINN) v2.5(MODIS), MOZART VOC speciation

<p>The Fire INventory from NCAR (FINN) provides daily global fire emissions at high spatial resolution. The FINN model uses satellite detection of active fires (thermal anomalies) and the land cover type to determine the emission estimates. These emission estimates are based on MODIS&nbsp;active fire detection. Other versions of FINNv2.5 use MODIS+VIIRS fire detections. Please find additional VOC speciations and gridded emissions files at:&nbsp;https://doi.org//10.5065/XNPA-AF09</p>

6000 ground truth of VOC and notarial deeds 3.000.000 HTR of VOC, WIC and notarial deeds

<p>The National Archives of the Netherlands and Noord-Hollands Archief conducted a project using&nbsp;the Transkribus HTR (Handwritten Text Recognition) platform. The aim was to semi automatically transcribe 2 million pages of old Dutch texts.</p> <p>The transcribed archives are 17th and 18th century documents from the Dutch East-India Company (VOC). And 19th century notarial deeds from Noord-Hollands Archief and other archives in the provinces.</p> <p>In order to train the HTR software a team produced transcriptions of approximately 6000 scans. The scans are randomly selected from the dataset. With the transcriptions a model is trained that can recognize more than 90% of the characters correctly. Transkribus transcribed the 2 million scans automatically using the trained model.</p> <p>The following Transkribus HTR+ model has been trained for the text recognition: "IJsberg". More information about the model can be found <a href="https://readcoop.eu/transkribus/public-models/">here</a>. See the chapter "Dutch Handwriting". However, the Transkribus team retrained the model with <a href="https://readcoop.eu/transkribus/howto/how-to-train-pylaia-models-in-transkribus/">PyLaia</a> technology, which improved the HTR+ model. This PyLaia model is not publicly available.</p> <p>Later on, 1 million extra scans concerning the West India Company (WIC) were transcribed automatically without adding extra ground truth or training. These archives are from the 17th and 18th century.</p> <p>The <a href="https://github.com/knaw-huc/loghi">Loghi Handwritten Text Recognition Toolkit</a> has been added to the arsenal of the Nation Archives of the Netherlands. 1.05.11.14, Notarissen Suriname tot 1828 [digitaal duplicaat] has been processed with this tooling.</p> <p>The datasets published in Zenodo contain the ground truth (scans in JPG, transcription in PAGE XML) and the HTR results (in PAGE XML and TXT). See the overview below.&nbsp;Scroll to the bottom of the page to download the actual files.</p> <p>For more information on how the Dutch National Archive innovate on digital accessibility click&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nationaalarchief.nl/over-het-na/datalab-nationaal-archief">here</a>.</p> <p>For open data access of scans and inventories of the National Archives click&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nationaalarchief.nl/onderzoeken/open-data/open-data-archiefinventarissen-en-scans-van-archieven">here</a>.</p> <p><strong>Disclaimer</strong>: due to a variety of languages used and the bad state of the documents the HTR results of "1.05.21, Dutch series Guyana" can be of poor quality.</p> <p>--------------------------------------------------------------</p> <p><strong>Dataset HTR </strong><br>(Dataset, name archive, number archive, inventory numbers, link to inventory)<br><br><strong>The National Archives of the Netherlands</strong><br>HTR results VOC, VOC, 1.04.02, 7527-9540,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nationaalarchief.nl/onderzoeken/archief/1.04.02/invnr/%40Deel%20I?query=1.04.02&amp;search-type=inventory">EAD</a><br>HTR results 1.04.02, Oost-Indische Testamenten, 1.04.02, 6847-6897,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nationaalarchief.nl/onderzoeken/archief/1.04.02/invnr/%40Deel%20I?query=1.04.02&amp;search-type=inventory">EAD</a>&nbsp;<br>HTR results 1.05.01.01, Oude WIC, 1.05.01.01, 1-87, &nbsp;<a href="https://www.nationaalarchief.nl/onderzoeken/archief/1.05.01.01/invnr/%40A..?query=1.05.01.01&amp;search-type=inventory">EAD</a><br>HTR results 1.05.01.02, Tweede WIC, 1.05.01.02, 1-1382, <a href="https://www.nationaalarchief.nl/onderzoeken/archief/1.05.01.02/invnr/%40VII~1324C2?query=1.05.01.01&amp;search-type=inventory">EAD</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>HTR results 1.05.02, Raad der Koloni&euml;n, 1.05.02, 1-192, <a href="https://www.nationaalarchief.nl/onderzoeken/archief/1.05.02/invnr/%40A?query=1.05.02&amp;search-type=inventory">EAD</a><br>HTR results 1.05.03, Soci&euml;teit van Suriname, 1.05.03, 1-566, <a href="https://www.nationaalarchief.nl/onderzoeken/archief/1.05.03/invnr/%40A?query=1.05.03&amp;search-type=inventory">EAD</a><br>HTR results 1.05.05, Soci&euml;teit van Berbice, 1.05.05, 1-445, &nbsp;&nbsp; Long-term variations of ambient volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from 2016 to 2020 in Beijing, China

<p>Ambient volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are crucial precursors for the formation of secondary organic aerosol (SOA) and ozone (O3). We have conducted in-situ observations and compiled a comprehensive dataset of ambient volatile organic compound (VOC) compositions and concentrations in Beijing, China, spanning the period from 2016 to 2020. The dataset covers a wide range of VOC species including 29 alkanes, 11 alkenes, 1 alkyne, 16 aromatics, 28 halohydrocarbons, 13 oxygenated VOCs (OVOCs), and 1 nitrogenous VOC (acetonitrile). The presentation and analysis of this dataset is available in a paper submitted to Earth System Science Data (Simon et al, in prep). The findings and analysis of this dataset have been documented in a paper that has been submitted to Earth System Science Data (Liu et al., in prep).</p> <p>If you use the dataset for related scientific research,&nbsp;please cite the corresponding reference:</p> <p>&nbsp;Liu et al (in prep); Long-term variations of ambient volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from 2016 to 2020 in Beijing, China; Earth System Science Data.</p>
