European consumers ́ preference and willingness to pay for food products labelled as obtained by a circular farming system -in relation to environmental attitudes and consumption behaviours
<p>Data was collected with questionnaire-based research carried out in Belgium, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Poland, and Spain as part of a European project. The survey questions were designed to obtain the Willingness to pay using 2 different methodologies the discrete choice experiment and the open-end choice experiment. The survey also included questions about consumers environmental attitudes, and consumption behavior (purchase, use and recycling), to identify if them have influence on preferences towards more sustainable food products. The 3 analyzed food products were pork meat, milk and bread, all of them obtained through different agricultural production systems (circular, conventional, and organic agriculture). The sample was stratified in terms of gender and age to be representative to the average population in each country. Furthermore, respondents included in this study were those that are mainly, or in part responsible for the household food shopping. The questionnaire was translated to the languages of the countries involved in the data collection and pre-launched using a pilot sample of 50 consumers in each case study country. Finally, a total of 5,362 validated questionnaires were obtained. Data was collected online using the Qualtrics market research company, and Net panel market company for Hungary from June 2021 to January 2022.</p>

Consumer's purchase intention and willingness to pay (WTP) for circular beef
<p>Data correspond to 5246 consumers responsible for buying food in their homes in 5 EU countries (Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Czech Republic, and Spain). The collected information corresponds to 1) socio-demographic information, 2) t consumer’s purchase intention and willingness to pay for beef obtained by circular farming (DCE), 3) and variables related to the components of the planned behaviour theory (social norms, environmental attitudes, consumer´ perceived behavioural control and frequency of consumption, and general sustainable behaviour).</p> <p>Data was collected online using a structured survey </p> <p>Data allow us to know consumers' preferences and WTP for beef obtained by circular farming and some sustainable behaviours</p>
Stated Choice Experiment to measure willingness to pay for stream health improvements in Macon County, NC, 2012-2013
We ran a survey with a random sample of 3500 residents in Macon County, NC. We drew the sample from a total of 26993 parcels identified in the Macon County tax data. We ran the survey between September 2012 and February 2013 and had a response rate of 40.8%. The survey included a stated choice experiment designed to measure willingness to pay for stream health improvements in the region. The survey also included a set of auxiliary questions to assess general preferences for land management and relevant environmental characteristics.
Coastal SEES Collaborative Research: Non-Market Value Meta-Data on Willingness to Pay for Coastal Marsh Habitat Change
These data represent a meta-dataset of observations on per household economic value - represented by per household willingness-to-pay (WTP) - for improvements in coastal marsh habitat, drawn from stated-preference studies in the research literature. The metadata allow estimation of benefit transfer functions via meta-regression modeling. Within these econometric functions, the dependent variable is a comparable estimate of economic value (e.g., WTP) drawn from extant primary valuation studies. Independent variables represent observable factors hypothesized to explain variation in this value measure across observations. These functions can be used to produce out-of-sample predictions of WTP for coastal marsh habitat improvements at sites for which no primary valuation studies have been conducted. They can also be used to understand the factors associated with systematic variations in marsh habitat values across different sites and studies. These data are described in Vedogbeton, H. and R.J. Johnston. 2020. Commodity Consistent Meta-Analysis of Wetland Values: An Illustration for Coastal Marsh Habitat. Environmental and Resource Economics 75(4), 835-865, and allow replication of the results presented therein. The metadata are extracted from primary studies that estimate total (use and nonuse) per household WTP for changes in the quantity or quality of coastal marsh wildlife habitats or their services, in US and Canada. These studies were identified via a systematic review of the literature. The metadata combine information provided by these primary non-market valuation studies with publicly available external data extracted from sources such as the US Census, US National Historical GIS (https://www.nhgis.org/), and US Fish and Wildlife Service National Wetlands Inventory (https://www.fws.gov/wetlands/Data/Mapper.html). Experimental auction to assess consumer perception and willingness to pay for ready-to-eat fresh salads with more sustainable packaging
<p>The provided Excel sheet contains a dataset generated from an experiment conducted face-to-face with consumers of ready to eat fresh salads on December 19th and 20th, 2023, using a questionnaire. It was an auction aimed at understanding consumers' preferences and willingness to pay for 100% recyclable and 100% biodegradable packaging.</p> <p>Each column in the table represents a particular variable, and each row corresponds to a specific record in the dataset. The dataset comprises 70 columns and 306 rows, where the first row contains the variable names and the second row describes the meaning or question associated with each variable.<br>To enhance readability, each variable is color-coded differently. This means that as you move from one color to another, you are transitioning from one variable to the next.<br>Most variables are derived from validated scales, such as General Shopping Behavior, General Personal Values and Attitudes, Environmental Consciousness Scale, Openness to Innovation Scale, NEP Scale, and Green Consumption Values. These scales are generally assessed using a Likert scale of 5 or 7 points for each statement or item included in the scale. Each statement is in a separate column, and the combined columns of statements form the respective variable, which is the scale in this context. Therefore, the total number of variables included in this dataset is 24.</p>
