Shams (al-d&icirc;n) b. &lsquo;Omar Z&acirc;wul&icirc;¹ DAULAT&Acirc;B&Acirc;D&Icirc;² (or Hind&icirc;, flourished about the ninth century). Lugd. i. 47 sq.</p> <p>After the preface, the treatise begins as follows: اعلم ان النحو علم يعرف به كيفية التركيب العربى صحة و سقاما.</p> <p>Well written, with copious glosses, but incomplete.</p> <p>This book was the property of Muḥammad b. Shaikh Miy&acirc;n b. ׳Abd al-ghaff&acirc;r b. Maul&acirc;n&acirc; &lsquo;Omar sh&acirc;h.</p> <p>[Hastings.]</p> <p>¹This MS. has الزوالی, but the commentary (no. 976) gives الزاولی, <em>i.e.</em> a native of Z&acirc;wulist&acirc;n.</p> <p>²Daulat&acirc;b&acirc;d is, according to the same commentary, بلدة من بلاد جونپور.</p>
