Female basal plate of ovipositor, with three configurations found in the known Brazilian species of Lestes: 1 (Lestes dichrostigma, Lestes pictus, Lestes tricolor and Lestes undulatus), 2 (Lestes forficula and Lestes paulistus) and 3 (Lestes minutus and Lestes demarcoi sp. nov.). Parts are named as follows: D—dorsal side, A—anterior side, V—ventral side, P—posterior side, PD—dorsal section of posterior side, PV—ventral section of posterior side, AP—Acute process (as defined in Westfall & May (1996)), VA—anterior section of ventral side and VP—posterior section of ventral side.
