FIGURE 9A–G. L. longitubulata, variability in size and shape of the glandular pit of T7. In Fig. A focus stacking is restricted to the interval between the tergite surface and the posterior border of the pit opening and shows that the hemispherical bulge of the posterior pit wall does not affect the overlaying cuticle of the tergite surface; in the other figures focus stacking reaches as deep as is necessary to have the anterior border of the pit opening in focus. The shorter the pit the more of the structures of the anterior pit wall are visible.
