Michigan State University, Landscape Position project, 2003
This database is from a field study conducted by Sherry Martin, a MS students in the Dept of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University, and P.A. Soranno. 71 stratified (max depth > 3 m and area > 0.2 km2) lakes were sampled one time in summer 2003 from mid-july to august across 3 HUC8 watersheds in Michigan’s lower peninsula: Muskegon, Au Sable, and Thunder Bay. Within each HUC8, 3-5 lakes were randomly chosen that were along a landscape position gradient using the ‘lake hydrology’ classification.. Details on the analysis are provided in Martin and Soranno 2006.
