Marine reserve targets to sustain and rebuild unregulated fisheries
<p>This upload contains data analysed in Krueck NC, Ahmadia GN, Possingham HP, Riginos C, Treml EA, Mumby PJ (2017) Marine reserve targets to sustain and rebuild unregulated fisheries. PLoS Biology 15(1): e2000537.</p> <p> </p> <p>The zip folder "Generic" contains data used to analyse reserve impacts on fisheries as described for generic scenarios in the Materials and Methods section and as presented in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2. Results are stored in subfolders that specify modelling assumptions as defined in S3 Table. File names specify the assumed fishing pressure as defined in S3 Table. Each file contains a three-dimensional data matrix in MATLAB format (“dat.mat”), giving in the first dimension (rows #1-4) fishery catch relative to the maximum sustainable yield (row #1), total fish biomass relative to the maximum possible total fish biomass (row #2), fish biomass in reserves relative to the maximum possible fish biomass in reserves (row #3), and fish biomass in fished areas relative to the maximum possible fish biomass in fished areas (row #4). The second dimension (columns #1-101) gives results for increasing levels of reserve coverage (increments of 1%), ranging from no protection (column #1: open fishing ground, 0% reserve coverage) to full protection (column #101: 100% reserve coverage). The third dimension (#1-175) separates results for all simulated, taxon-specific rates of natural adult mortality and growth. Data for: Sustainable connectivity in a community repository
<p>Identifiers of many kinds are the key to creating unambiguous and persistent connections between research objects and other items in the global research infrastructure (GRI). Many repositories are implementing mechanisms to collect and integrate these identifiers into their submission and record curation processes. This bodes well for a well-connected future, but many existing resources submitted in the past are missing these identifiers, thus missing the connections required for inclusion in the connected infrastructure. Re-curation of these metadata is required to make these connections.</p> <p>The Dryad Data Repository has existed since 2008 and has successfully re-curated the repository metadata several times, adding identifiers for research organizations, funders, and researchers. Understanding and quantifying these successes depends on measuring repository and identifier connectivity. Metrics are described and applied to the entire repository here.</p> <p>Identifiers for papers (DOIs) connected to datasets in Dryad have long been a critical part of the Dryad metadata creation and curation processes. Since 2019, the % of datasets with connected papers has decreased from 100% to less than 40%. This decrease has significant ramifications for the re-curation efforts described above as connected papers are an important source of metadata. In addition, missing connections to papers make understanding and re-using datasets more difficult.</p> <p>Connections between datasets and papers are many times difficult to make because of time lags between submission and publication, lack of clear mechanisms for citing datasets and other research objects from papers, changing focus of researchers, and other obstacles. The Dryad community of members, i.e. users, research institutions, publishers, and funders have vested interests in identifying these connections and critical roles in the curation and re-curation efforts. Their engagement will be critical in building on the successes Dryad has already achieved and ensuring sustainable connectivity in the future.</p>

<p>During the Sabai Webinar Series 5, hosted by the Shwetaungthagathu Reform Initiative Centre (SRIc), Burmese Young Experts, including Ms Tharaphe Hlaing, Gender and Women Rights Activist, Ms Vicky Thant Thitsa Aung, Vickey IELTS Educator (Myanmar Women Entrepreneur Network) and Ms Naychi Thel Kyaw Tun (YSEALI Women Leadership Academy) engaged in a discussion on Women's Leadership in Sustainable Development. </p> <p>They highlighted the importance of women's leadership in sustainable development and challenges within Myanmar Women's Society. </p>

Data for: Information accessibility, accounting manipulation, and sustainable development of digital enterprises: Based on double moderating effect model and panel PSM-DID method
<p>A theoretical mechanism was analyzed from the micro perspective of the enterprise to explore how information accessibility moderates the effect of accounting manipulation on the sustainable development of digital enterprises. Using data from 1200 listing digital enterprises in China and the DEA-Malmquist index method, the efficiency value of digital enterprises in 2007–2021 was estimated to represent the index of sustainable development of digital enterprises. The accounting manipulation was detected using the panel PSM-DID method based on the Administrative Measures for the Recognition of High-tech Enterprise's policy. The information accessibility value was estimated based on the MDA method. Empirical studies were conducted using text analysis, the panel PSM-DID method, and the double moderating effect model. The results showed that: (1) Accounting manipulation had a negative impact on the sustainable development of "true" digital enterprises and the "fake" digital enterprises; (2) Information accessibility directly and positively enhanced the technological progress and scale efficiency of digital enterprises, and its moderating effect was heterogeneous, with a significant moderating effect on the "true" digital enterprises and a negative effect on the "fake" ones.</p>

Data of "Sustainable and imperceptible augmentation of living structures with organic bioelectronic fibres"
<p>Functional and sensory augmentation of living structures, such as the human skin and plant epidermis, offers vast opportunities for biology-machine interface, wearable health, and environmental monitoring. However, current sensor and electronic formats could be obstructive to their hosts’ inherent sensations or physiological changes. Challenges are also faced in widening the augmentation of living structures without drastically increasing the global environmental and ecological burdens. Here, we demonstrate imperceptibly augmented living systems, through in situ tethering of poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) : polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS)-based organic bioelectronic fibres. Customising fibre tether patterns and modalities enable applications from biopotential acquisition and skin-gated organic electrochemical transistors, to augmented touch and plant interfaces. The open networks formed by the intrinsically substrate-free fibres provide a biomorphic interface, while supporting direct rigid-to-flexible coupling with microelectronics and e-textiles. We further demonstrate conceptual fibre formats for on-demand device repair, upgrade, and recycle, or for enhancing electromechanical stability against touch. Our work may unfold bioelectronic interfaces that are simultaneously biologically-adaptable, sustainable, and created with unprecedented freedom.</p>
Semi-structured interviews about sustainable and equitable development in the USA
<p>We conducted semi-structured interviews with 23 individuals working in the broad field of sustainable and equitable urban development in the U.S.A. between August and September 2022. We used purposive and snowball sampling, targeting people with experience working in this field across multiple sectors, states, and types of organizations. Participants were informed and consented and interviews were audio-recorded and transcribed. Participants reported working in the following professions: Built environment, Transport & Mobility, Health and social care, Housing, Culture, Parks and Recreation, Water, Education, Energy, Workforce support, Sanitation, Waste, and Others. Participants' organization types included: local government, non-profit organizations, private sector, and others. Participants lived in various U.S. states.</p>
Questionnaire and interview guidelines related to Süsser et al. (2024) on how the COVID-19 pandemic changed stakeholder engagement processes in sustainability research in the long-term
<p>The survey questionnaire and the interview guidelines have been designed in the framework of the EU H2020 projects SENTINEL to study the impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the stakeholder engagement processes in susatinability research in the longterm. We conducted interviews with researchers and engaged stakeholders, using a semi-structured interview guideline. We designed the survey as an explorative, semi-quantitative, self-completion online questionnaire, using the online tool “LimeSurvey”. The survey was reworked based on our previous survey. Datos de la investigación: La voz del rehén: adapting creative sustainable development goal-based physical-artístico project during COVID pandemic situation
<p>This article assesses the effects on creativity of an interdisciplinary physicall-artistic programme and their effects during pandemic context. The sample comprised 97 individuals –54 men and 43 women– with an average age of 21.37±1.56, all of whom were studying a Primary Education Teacher Training Degree at Zaragoza University –Spain–. It was a pre-experimental study with measures pre-post programme –adapted to pandemic situation, replacing the acrosport content to skipping rope, juggling and aerial dance–. The creative skills assessment instrument was the PIC-A. A Student’s T-test and ANOVA test were performed to discover significant differences in pre-post in both academic years. Results showed that: i) participants obtained significant improvements in total score of creativity in both academic years; ii) the adaptations made to the intervention programme during the pandemic year were effective in developing creativity. These studies confirm the importance of incorporating interdisciplinary creativity programmes into the university system.</p>
