Dataset - University Social Responsibility in the context of Social Appropriation of Knowledge: A Systematic Literature Mapping Approach (2015-2020)
<p>From abstract:</p> <p>University Social Responsibility (USR) should be seen beyond a yearly report and be understood as a process of Social Appropriation of Knowledge (SAK) though different stakeholders around higher education. The object of this literature mapping is to analyze the recent developments regarding USR regarding SAK in a higher education context where different stakeholders are involved. Following a PRISMA flow mapping process, six general-designed questions of 286 articles are revised for this paper as to discover how SAK happens within universities. All articles were retrieved from Scopus and Web of Sciences databases. The findings include a USR field divided between models´ approach and experience such as service-learning. Furthermore, sustainability and the environment take a special role within USR in the context of SAK that must be analyzed by itself as there is a wide interest in the topic. </p>
Inhibitory control, exploration behaviour and manipulated ecological context are associated with foraging flexibility in the great tit
<p class="MsoCommentText">Organisms are constantly under selection to respond effectively to diverse, sometimes rapid, changes in their environment, but not all individuals are equally plastic in their behaviour. Although cognitive processes and personality are expected to influence individual behavioural plasticity, the effects reported are highly inconsistent, which we hypothesise is because ecological context is usually not considered.</p> <p class="MsoCommentText">We explored how one type of behavioural plasticity, foraging flexibility, was associated with inhibitory control (assayed using a detour-reaching task) and exploration behaviour in a novel environment (a trait closely linked to the fast-slow personality axis). We investigated how these effects varied across two experimentally manipulated ecological contexts, food value and predation risk.</p> <p class="MsoCommentText">In the first phase of the experiment, we trained great tits <i>Parus major</i> to retrieve high value (preferred) food that was hidden in sand so that this became the familiar food source. In the second phase, we offered them the same familiar hidden food at the same time as a new alternative option that was visible on the surface, which was either high or low value, and under either high or low perceived predation risk. Foraging flexibility was defined as the proportion of choices made during four minute trials that were for the new alternative food source.</p> <p>Our assays captured consistent differences among individuals in foraging flexibility. Inhibitory control was associated with foraging flexibility - birds with high inhibitory control were more flexible when the alternative food was high value, suggesting they inhibited the urge to select the familiar food and instead selected the new food option. Exploration behaviour also predicted flexibility – fast explorers were more flexible, supporting the information gathering hypothesis. This tendency was especially strong under high predation risk, suggesting risk aversion also influenced the observed flexibility because fast explorers are risk prone and the new unfamiliar food was perceived to be the risky option. Thus, both behaviours predicted flexibility, and these links were at least partly dependent on ecological conditions.</p> <p class="MsoCommentText">Our results demonstrate that an executive cognitive function (inhibitory control) and a behavioural assay of a well-known personality axis are both associated with individual variation in the plasticity of a key functional behaviour. That their effects on foraging flexibility were primarily observed as interactions with food value or predation risk treatments also suggests that the population level consequences of some behavioural mechanisms may only be revealed across key ecological conditions.</p>

Effect of social context on behaviour in anemonefish hierarchies
<p>Animal social groups can be organized in hierarchies where individual status determines privileges within the group, and stability is maintained through conflict (aggression-submission) and cooperation. Aggression, submission, and cooperation are not homogeneous among group members and are influenced by social context and associated trade-offs. However, studies of rank-specific behaviours are rare which limits our understanding of these patterns. Here, we performed rank ascension experiments using 15 groups of <em>Amphiprion clarkii</em>, a relatively mobile anemonefish, to assess rank-specific behaviour related to social context. We showed that: promoted ranks increased cooperation rates compared to non-promoted ranks to fulfil the tasks associated with their new status within the group; group size had no effect on group cooperation rates and subordinates did not increase cooperation after group size reduction; and frequency of one-on-one agonistic encounters within the group was asymmetric and higher for lower ranks. Thus, subordinates modulate rates of cooperative behaviour according to their status, irrespective of their body size or group size, and experience more conflict than dominants as they attempt to maintain their position in the hierarchy and avoid eviction. We provide evidence that social context in the form of rank has an important effect on individual behaviour and appears to be the key driver of cooperation and within-group conflict.</p>

A database of contexts with polypredicative reason constructions in the New Testament (База данных по контекстам с полипредикативными причинными конструкциями в Новом Завете)
<p>The database accumulates contexts with polypredicative reason constructions in the text of the New Testament.</p> <p>The initial sample was based on the distribution of reason conjunctions (used as keywords) in the translations of the New Testament into three languages: Russian (<em>poskol'ku</em>, <em>tak kak</em>, <em>potomu čto</em>, <em>potomu, čto</em>, <em>ottogo, čto</em>, <em>iz-za togo, čto</em>), English (<em>because</em>, <em>since</em>, <em>for</em>), and French (<em>puisqu</em>(<em>e</em>), <em>parce qu</em>(<em>e</em>), <em>comme</em>, <em>car</em>). The raw sample obtained by automated extraction was then manually edited to remove the contexts containing irrelevant (non-causal) uses of the keywords and to split the verses containing more than one reason context.</p> <p>The resulting database contains 1630 reason contexts (in 1504 verses), which are likely to be translated with polypredicative reason constructions in any language. The database is intended as a tool for extracting relevant material for studies on individual languages and for typological studies of reason constructions.</p> <p>In addition to the main database, a smaller subsample of 86 contexts has been annotated for semantic/pragmatic types of reason meanings and for the information structure of the reason construction.</p> <p>The database was created at the Institute for Linguistic Studies, RAS with support from the Russian Science Foundation grant # 18-18-00472 “Causal Constructions in World Languages (Semantics and Typology)”.</p> <p> </p> <p>База данных объединяет контексты с полипредикативными причинными конструкциями в тексте Нового Завета.</p> <p>Исходная выборка была основана на распределении причинных союзов (послуживших ключевыми словами) в переводах Нового Завета на три языка: русский (<em>поскольку</em>, <em>так как</em>, <em>потому что</em>, <em>потому,</em><em> что</em>, <em>оттого, что</em>, <em>из-за того, что</em>), английский (<em>because</em>, <em>since</em>, <em>for</em>) и французский (<em>puisqu</em>(<em>e</em>), <em>parce qu</em>(<em>e</em>), <em>comme</em>, <em>car</em>). Эта выборка, полученная при помощи автоматического извлечения подходящих стихов, затем была вручную обработана: из неё были удалены контексты с нерелевантными (непричинными) употреблениями ключевых слов, а также были разделены на несколько вхождений те стихи, которые содержали более одного причинного контекста.</p> <p>Получившаяся база данных содержит 1630 причинных контекстов (из 1504 стихов), в которых в переводе на любой язык можно с высокой вероятностью ожидать появления полипредикативных причинных конструкций. <p>Les analyses présentées dans les cinq tableaux ont été acquises dans le cadre des travaux du PCR Arbano (Projet Collectif de recherche Antiquité en Basse-Normandie).<br> Ces tableaux sont associés à l'article : M.-A. Afin de circonscrire et d’identifier plusieurs aires probables de productions, une démarche d’analyses collaboratives a été mise en œuvre. Elle s’appuie sur le croisement des données typo-chronologiques avec des analyses pétrographiques et chimiques réalisées sur les produits finis et sur différents matériaux argileux susceptibles d’être utilisés pour l’artisanat potier. Les productions des ateliers de Lisieux et de Sées ont également été réexaminées afin de préciser leur spécificité sous les angles typologique et physico-chimique, tout en proposant de nouvelles données sur leur chronologie et aire de diffusion. Le détail de la démarche et ses résultats sont présentés dans l'article publié dans les annales de Normandie en 2023. Concentrations of dissolved dimethyl sulfide (DMS), methanethiol and other trace gases in context of microbial communities from the temperate Atlantic to the Arctic Ocean
<p>This archive contains bioinformatic code and data files to reproduce bacterial analyses from Gros et al. (<em>Biogeosciences; </em>https://doi.org/10.5194/bg-2022-150). In this study, seawater samples collected along an Atlantic-Arctic transect (55-80°N) were evaluated for microbial community composition and trace gas concentrations. Microbes were sampled underway using "AUTOFIM" automatic filtration; and bacterial communities amplicon-sequenced using 16S rRNA gene primers.
